Srila Prabhupad A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Maharaj gave much respect to Srila Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj. You know when Srila Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj and our Gurudev were in Kolkata, they lived together with A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Maharaj for many years. It was before A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Maharaj joined Chaitanya Math full time, before he took sannyas, etc.

Srila Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj and Prabhupad A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Maharaj were intimate friends like Krishna and Balaram. When A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Maharaj was going to preach in the Western countries (America) for the first time, he first got Srila Sridhar Maharaj's mercy—he came to Chaitanya Saraswat Math, bowed down at the lotus feet of Srila Sridhar Maharaj and after that he started preaching in the West...

Later, when A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Maharaj came back from the West, he first met with Srila Sridhar Maharaj and told him how he preached in the West, what he did in the foreign countries—he told everything and hearing that Srila Sridhar Maharaj became very happy.

Srila Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj recognised Srila Swami Maharaj as Nityananda Prabhu's saktya-vesa avatar. Before, nobody knew this about him, but Srila Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj said, "A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Maharaj Prabhupad is not an ordinary person, he is Nityananda Prabhu's saktya-vesa avatar." He was the first to say this, otherwise who would have known that?
