Emana durmati. What does durmati mean? What kind of 'bad' is it? Mind always goes towards bad things, always does bad things. Samsara bhitare padiya achhinu ami: I have already fallen into family attachment. Tava nija-jana kona mahajane pathaiya dile tumi. Prabhu, You sent here one person, a Guru. Kahila amare giya. What did that Guru tell me?

Tomare tarite navadvipe avatara. You do not know but Krishna Himself has come to this world, appearing in Nabadwip under the name of Sri Krishna Chaitanya. Toma hena kata dina-hina jane karilena bhava-para. He came to rescue us—to rescue the souls like you and me! We have to cross the river, but without His mercy we cannot do it, and He has come to take us across.

Vedera pratijna rakhibara tare. He promised, "I will come in the Age of Kali." Rukma-varna. Whose varna (colour) is rukma (golden)? Rukma is Radharani's color—He hid His own colour and took the color of Radharani. Vipra-suta. Vipra means a brahmin, suta means a son: He came as a son of a brahmin. 'A brahmin' means who? Jagannath Mishra.

Nanda suta yini chaitanya gosani. He who is the son of Nanda Maharaj became now Chaitanya Gosai. Nija-nama kari' dana. What did He donate to us? He gave everybody His own Name (nija Nama)! Bhagavan Krishna's Name, Beauty, Pastimes are nondifferent from the Lord.

Se katha suniya asiyachhi, natha "I heard that, so I have come to You, Prabhu. I am surrendering at Your lotus feet." Bhakti Vinod Thakur is telling his own story... If we tell it, Krishna will give His mercy—if we cry to Lord Nityananda, He will give His mercy, so Bhakti Vinod Thakur is crying...

padiya achhinu ami
tava nija-jana kona mahajane

O Lord! I am very wicked-minded and have fallen into this material world, but You have sent a great soul, Your associate (to rescue me).

daya kari more patita dekhiya
kahila amare giya
ohe dina-jana suna bhala katha
ullasita ha'be hiya [2]

Seeing me so fallen and being merciful, he came to me and said, "O humble soul, listen to this wonderful message and your heart will rejoice.

navadvipe avatara

rukma-varna vipra-suta
mahaprabhu name nadiya mataya

"To fulfil the prophecies of the Vedas, He has appeared with a golden complexion as a brahman's son bearing the name 'Mahaprabhu' and driven all of Nadia (all the world) mad with divine love in the company of His brother Nityananda.

nanda suta yini chaitanya gosani
nija-nama kari' dana
tarila jagat tumi-o yaiya
laha nija paritrana [5]

"Sri Chaitanya, who is Krishna Himself, has distributed His own Name and delivered the world. Go also and accept your deliverance."

se katha suniya asiyachhi, natha!
tomara charana-tale
bhakati-vinoda kandiya kandiya
apana-kahini bale [6]
