If you go to school, college, or university, and do not study properly—if you always sit behind and when the professor gives a lecture you do not listen, do not follow it —you will not get a proper result. The same is here too. This is a transcendental university: if you take initiation, take the mantra and do not follow your Guru properly (you do not chant, do not do gayatri, do not follow Gurudev's words, do not serve Gurudev), then this initiation has no meaning, has no value—it is actually bhakti-virodhi, averse to devotion.

"Karma, jnana, yoga have no value if it is against devotion." You cannot get the Lord through karma, jnana, or yoga—you can get the Lord only by serving Him. If you do not feel affection and attraction to the service of the Lord, to the kirtan of the Lord, you will not get the Lord.

"Aharnisa chinta Krsna, balaha vadane (অহর্নিশ চিন্ত কৃষ্ণ, বলহ বদনে): day and night think about Krishna, chant Krishna's Name." (Cb, 2.28.28) You must do kirtan (serve and think about the Lord) day and night, but do you do that? From the time you wake up in the morning you must try to do kirtan the whole day—twenty-four hours a day. We say, "Aharnisa chinta Krsna," but when we do kirtan for ten hours we become tired, we cannot manage, but Mahaprabhu chanted twenty-four hours a day...

We must try to serve the Lord. We have got an opportunity to practise and serve the lotus feet of Gurudev, but if somebody leaves their service, it is their loss, this is not a problem for the Guru. If I die, service will not stop—it will continue. Because of our ego we say, "Service will not run without me." If we think about this and understand this, it will be good for us.

"Ahankare matta haina, Nitai-pada pasariya, asatyere satya kori mani (অহঙ্কারে মত্ত হৈঞা নিতাই-পদ পাসরিয়া অসত্যেরে সত্য করি' মানি): maddened with pride, forgetting Nitai's feet, I accept untruth as truth." Everything happens by the mercy of Gurudev, everything is running by the mercy of Gurudev, but if we leave service to his lotus feet, the loss is ours, not his. Ego is very bad.

Maya is always around you, and if you leave your service, maya can attack you any time. She is always searching for your weak point, always searching for a hole to enter—she will always try to capture you and remove you from the service. That is her job, but the Guru and Vaishnavs are very powerful—if you listen to them and follow their instruction, they will always protect you from the illusory environment; but those who make offence lose their service...

Kali-Yuga's Treasure
'In Dvapar-yuga Krishna thought, 'How will people be rescued from this environment in Kali-yuga?' Krishna Himself came in this world in Kali-yuga as Gauranga Mahaprabhu and said, 'I have come here, so I must give them something.' What does He give?'

Sri Sri Damodarastakam
'By such childhood pastimes as this He is drowning the inhabitants of Gokula in pools of ecstasy, and is revealing to those devotees who are absorbed in knowledge of His supreme majesty and opulence that He is only conquered by devotees whose pure love is imbued with intimacy and is free from all conceptions of awe and reverence. With great love I again offer my obeisances to Lord Damodara hundreds and hundreds of times.'

We are always offenders, we make so many offences, and only our Gurudev and Vaishnav-varga can remove these offences from our heart.
