His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj
Sri Ekachakra Dham
14 February 2019, part 6

Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur told, "You cannot make a programme with ten rupees—even with twenty rupees you cannot make a kirtan." Here, people give fifty rupees and they do a kirtan like that [sahajiya kirtan is heard in the background]. Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur told also that when people worship Kali, Durga, etc. they give ten rupees and the pujari goes, "Namoh, namoh, namoh." That is ten rupee puja, and if you give fifty rupees they can chant some kirtan. The problem is that it is not what kirtan is.

Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur said that in lieu of serving the Guru, instead of serving Nityananda Prabhu, instead of serving Krishna, we make Them serve us—we must not make Nityananda Prabhu, Gurudev our servants, we must serve Them. Do not make Guru and Krishna your servant, a bribe-taker. A "bribe-taker" means you give ten rupees to them and you want something in return. This is bribery. "I want some name and fame, I want kanak, kamini, pratistha." These are Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur's words—and these are very strong words.

I am very happy that everybody has come, that so many devotees have come—tomorrow more devotees are coming, and on Saturday even more. Then Sunday is the festival... Service is our life, without service we will not be alive—it is better to die then. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur also said that when some sannyasi says, "Do not give jay to me! Do not give jay to me!" it is not true—it actually means that the sannyasi is saying, "Give more jay to me." That is what it means. Prabhupad told it very nicely.

কনক-কামিনী প্রতিষ্ঠা-বাঘিনী
ছাড়িয়াছে যারে সেই ত বৈষ্ণব

kanaka-kamini, pratistha-baghini,
chhadiyachhe yare sei ta vaisnava

"Those who have given up money, women, and fame, are the true Vaishnavs."

(Vaishnav Ke? 11)

[Regarding the sahajiya kirtan in the background:] Too much Nama-aparadh. We should do kirtan and take this sound out of our ears.

Jay Srila Guru Maharaj ki jay

Dignity of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math: (3) Our Practising Life Principle
'Krishna always tests us, but we cannot tolerate so much. Also we do not accept what is in favour of devotion properly, sometimes we accept what is favourable but sometimes we also accept what is unfavourable to devotion. This is bad.'

Sri Sri Damodarastakam
'To the Supreme Lord, whose form is the embodiment of eternal existence, knowledge, and bliss, whose shark-shaped earrings are swinging to and fro, who is beautifully shining in the divine realm of Gokula, who [due to the offence of breaking the pot of yogurt that his mother was churning into butter and then stealing the butter that was kept hanging from a swing] is quickly running from the wooden grinding mortar in fear of Mother Yasoda, but who has been caught from behind by her who ran after Him with greater speed—to that Supreme Lord, Sri Damodara, I offer my humble obeisances.'

Even Brahma may come and show us so much opulence, but we have no time to go there.
