(5/6) Lord Krishna's Inconceivable Glory
His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Always chant the glories of the Lord, then you will get a very nice result. 'Narada-muni bajaya vina Radhika-Ramana-name (নারদমুনি বাজায় বীণা রাধিকারমণ-নামে). Narad Muni plays his vina, chanting the Holy Name of Radhika-Raman.' When Naran Muni plays his vina chanting the Holy Name of Lord Krishna, genuine divine love for the Lord comes to him... One of the Names of Baladev is Haladhar. Krishna attracts everybody (akarsana, আকর্ষণ), but Baladev is the one who does cultivation (karsana, কর্ষণ). It means that Baladev prepares (cultivates) us by removing all dirt from our hearts. You can also remember the pastime of Gundicha-marjan. Gundicha-marjan also means removing all the dust and dirt from our hearts. What is that dust? Lust (kama), anger (krodha), greed (lobha), illusion (moha), envy (matsarya); rupa (eye-enjoyment), rasa (tongue-enjoyemnt), gandha (nose-enjoyment), sabda (ear-enjoyment), sparsa (tactile enjoyment); desire for money (kanak), women (kamini) and prestige (pratistha). Sweeping, cleaning and washing all this dirt from our hearts is the actual meaning of Gundicha-marjan; and externally, it means that we clean all temples on this day. In Sri Puri Dham, we go to the temple of Gundicha Devi (King Indradyumna's wife) and clean it before Lord Jagannath comes there.
একলা ঈশ্বর কৃষ্ণ, আর সব ভৃত্য ।
ekala isvara krsna, ara saba bhrtya 'Lord Krishna is the only supreme controller, and all others are His servants. They dance as He makes them do so.' (Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, 1.5.142) There are many gods in this world, but the Supreme Lord, the Master of everyone and everything, is Lord Sri Krishna. He is the origin of all incarnations, the same as Lord Gaurachandra. They are both original Supreme Personalities of Godhead, the origins of all other incarnations. You know the Names of ten incarnations of the Lord: Matsya avatar, Kurma avatar, Varaha avatar, Nrisingha avatar, Vaman avatar, Parasuram avatar, Rama avatar, Baladev avatar, Buddha avatar and Kalki avatar. Lord Krishna is the origin of all these incarnations. To nourish and fulfil the purpose of His various pastimes, the Lord appears in all these different forms. Some people say, 'Siva and Krishna are one and the same,' some people say, 'Kali and Krishna are one and the same.' It is not so. Krishna can become Kali, it is true (Krishna can become Siva, Durga or anybody else), but Kali can never become Krishna, just as you can prepare yoghurt (curd, butter, etc.) from milk, but you can never get milk from yoghurt. Another peculiarity of Lord Krishna is that there is no difference between His parts of body – His eyes, ears, nose, arms, legs, and so on can function in the same way (for example, He can eat with His hands, eyes, nose, etc.). Suppose you make a doll out of sweet curd – if you then taste its feet, nose or any other part, you will feel the taste of condensed milk. So, each of Lord Krishna's senses can do all activities. There is no difference between His body and He Himself. Our souls and our bodies are a different matter – when our bodies die, they are thrown away, burnt or buried, and our souls get another body or go back to the Lord's abode. But there is no difference between the Lord and His body.
