Service with Heart

His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj
Sri Nrisingha Palli
14 March 2019, part 5

"All of us have come here to serve devotees"—if such mood comes to us, it will be good for us. Everybody does not really have equal quality or qualification, but in whichever way we can help, however much we can do, whichever way we can serve, we will try. This kind of desire should come to us, then we can easily make this festival successful.

We should happily help each other. Some tolerance, sacrifice is also necessary because the temple here is small and there are so many devotees coming—you see that there are so many devotees staying together in a very little room, we are also renting many rooms outside near Krishnanagar. What can I do? They want to come and join the parikrama, then I must give them an opportunity to join the programme, I cannot reject anybody. It is not a question if someone has money or not—everybody can join the parikrama.

When Srila Gurudev was seventeen-eighteen years, when he just joined the temple, he wrote one very nice poem, saying,

"aya aya tvara kari' bala-vrddha nara-nari
divya-chintamani-dhama—gaura-janma-bhumi
pranayi-bhakta sane jivanera subha-ksane
gauranga-janma-dine aya parikrami'"

"Men and women, young and old, come immediately! Come to the divine abode made of wish-fulfilling gemstone, the land of Sri Gauranga's advent! Come and circumambulate this land in the company of loving devotees at the most auspicious time in life: the day of Sri Gauranga's advent."

Come, join quickly, do not hesitate, do not look behind—throw everything and join the festival, join Sri Nabadwip Dham parikrama.

Actually, as you know, this parikrama was first started by Sriman Nityananda Prabhu—He did it first with Srila Jiva Goswami Prabhu.

গৌর আমার যে সব স্থানে
করল ভ্রমণ রঙ্গে ।
সে সব স্থান হেরিব আমি
প্রণয়ি-ভকত-সঙ্গে ॥

gaura amara ye-saba sthane
karala bhramana range
se-saba sthana heriba ami
pranayi-bhakata-sange

"In the company of loving devotees, I behold all the places my Gaurasundar roamed during His ecstatic Pastimes."

We should realise, we should understand the places Gaura visited, the pastimes that are going on in each of those places and we should keep everything in our heart. Service should be coming from the heart—you must serve with your heart. This is the main thing. Srila Prabhupad told also, "Make a temple in your heart"—give some space to the Deity in your heart. You heart is now full of all kinds of material desires, but you remove these bad elements, bad desires from your heart and give some space to your Lord, give some space to your worshippable Deity. That is main thing.

'May Krishna Always Bless You'
'Not everybody has that kind of fortune, not everybody can do service, not everybody can join service and do proper preaching. Preaching is the main thing: many people can make a temple, but it is necessary to preach.'

Krsna haite chatur-mukha
'The foremost devotees of Srila Visvanath Chakravarti Thakur are Srila Baladev Vidyabhusan and Srila Jagannath Das Babaji. Their dear follower is Srila Bhakti Vinod Thakur. His associate is the best of the topmost devotees, Srila Gaura Kisor Das Babaji, whose sole joy is Sri Hari's service.'

If you do not have money, it is not a problem—you can just serve with some water and Tulasi and keep Lord Krishna in your heart.
