What You Wish Is What You Get

If somebody wants to do some service and does some service, I like it. Some obstacles can come through service, you should remember it. When I also did something, so many things came to my ear. Somebody would say, "Oh, you are working, but your work is not good," "What you are doing is not good," "You are stealing money," etc. What did I do? I did not think, "Oh, I will stop doing it." This is not the way. If you do something, somebody can say something but it is Krishna testing you.

We are like purisera kita (পুরীষের কীট), insects in the stool. We were in the stool before, and Gurudev took out of there, cleaned and gave us some service, but our mind is always in the stool... Gurudev again brings us back, he tries to take us out again and again, he is very merciful, but our mind always goes back to the stool. We are staying at the Math, but we are always thinking of the commode. (A commode is a western style toilet bowl.) Gurudev always takes us out, but our mind always goes there and eats the stool. You can see it yourself—if you take some worms out of the stool, they will always go back to the stool, their character is like that.

Maya is very powerful. That is why,

মায়ারে করিয়া জয় ছাড়ান না যায় ।
সাধু-গুরু কৃপা বিনা না দেখি উপায় ॥

mayare kariya jaya chhadana na yaya
sadhu-guru krpa vina na dekhi upaya

"It is not possible to conquer maya by engaging in maya. I see no other way to get relief except for the mercy of sadhus."

You cannot conquer this illusory environment unless you get proper mercy. As I said before, when your heart is full of other things, then how will you accept mercy? How will you get proper mercy? You must be able to accept it, you must want it. If you actually really want mercy, then you will get it easily, but if you do not want it, then you will not get it. I am an example of this. I wanted Gurudev's kripa (mercy), not position or anything like that. And mercy came. I did not sit with Gurudev, I did not always stay with him—I wanted to try to fulfil his desire, I wanted to try to do what he wanted, and in this way I got the result. If you also try, if you also have that kind of desire, if you want that, then you will easily get his mercy, but if you follow your mind, then you will not get it.
