(1) Busy Service Days

His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj
Sri Ekachakra Dham, 5 April 2019, part 1
Translated from Bengali

On the way here, I visited Bakura. I ate something in the morning and left, reaching Bakura (Betur) by about eleven o'clock. They asked me if I would take prasad at noon there, but I told them that I had already agreed that I would take prasad here, in Ekachakra. There are construction works going on in Bakura now, so I went there to see how they are getting on. In Bardhaman, on the Durgapur Highway, there was a big traffic jam – we spent one and a half hour sitting in the car. So, I ended up reaching here only at three o'clock. I am used to keeping to my time, but if there is a traffic jam on the road, what can one do? So, I ended up arriving one and a half hours later than planned. Anyway, at least I got to come and see the construction works' progress. There are works going on in seven places now, and I have to call all places and supervise...

Soon there will be a festival in Tarakeswar, on Gurudev's disappearance day. This year, we did not have a Deity installation anniversary festival there because we had no time – at the time when it was supposed to take place, I was in Bardhaman, opening a new temple. The local devotees in Tarakeswar had been waiting for their festival – it takes place once a year, so they were looking forward to it. Of course, they made a festival themselves, and one or two hundred people came, but when I make a festival, then thousands comes. So, they were waiting for that grand festival. That is why I decided to make Gurudev's disappearance festival there this year. I went there today on the way, too. I made arrangements for the pandal, microphones and had a look at the new goshala – we are making a goshala there, so I checked how it was turning out.

There are also construction works going on in Bangladesh. It had rained there recently, so cars cannot reach the place. It is a problem. It is very hard to do anything there.

I told everybody after the Ekachakra festival that I would build more rooms here, and the construction is almost completed now. Everything is almost done in just one and a half months. The kitchen outbuilding is also completed. Every year we pay ten–twelve thousand rupees to rent a pandal for the festival, but now I have made a proper outbuilding kitchen. I also saw that Bengalis struggled to stay here (there are not enough rooms and it gets very cold at night), so I made another eighteen rooms on the roof of the nat-mandir. Now there will be no problem.

I have also started building more rooms in Nrinsingha Palli, on the roof of our building, and several more outbuilding bathrooms. On top of that, I have purchased a land behind our temple, so I will need to start the works there, and I have bought a store in front of the temple.

In this way, by the mercy of the Lord, we have a chance to do all these works. As long as the Lord keeps me alive, I have to continue doing my service. I have got this body to serve the Lord. If I slow down and live a comfortable life at leisure as a deha-rami (gross enjoyer), then I will not be able to do any service. It is great fortune to have got this human birth, but if I waste this birth, what will become of me then?

Practise and Believe
