[Addressing a devotee who is taking initiation.] You already know everything about initiation—I have already told about it, I have explained the meaning of initiation, and also by the mercy of Gurudev you have got devotees' association. Now you must try to serve the Lord and Gurudev.

You have already come to Krishna consciousness. You must get into the habit of taking only vegetarian food. You already live in householder life with a devotee, so you must understand how it is necessary to live a householder life, what is necessary for a householder life, and try to follow that. (The next book I will print in English will be about some instructions for householder devotees—what rules and regulations householder devotees must follow, etc. You will get it before next Gaura Purnima.) So, you know what rules and regulations householder devotees must follow, you can also ask other senior devotees or, if you want, you can also ask me directly. I do not mind it.

You are already in the association of devotees, you have got good association, and as a result your heart has become clean, your land is fertile and you are only waiting now for the proper seed to be sown. You have appealed to me to give you the holy seed, and I want to give you the seed (bhakti-lata-bij, the seed of the creeper of devotion) that I have got from my Gurudev.

This Holy Name comes through guru-parampara: from Krishna to Brahma, from Brahma to Narad, from Narad to Vyasadev, from Vyasadev to Madhva Acharya, and so on. In this way, the Name came to Madhavendra Puri, from Madhavendra Puri to Isvar Puri, and from Isvar Puri to Mahaprabhu. Mahaprabhu Himself took initiation showing His example to us. He is the Lord Himself, but even He took initiation from Isvar Puri in Gaya. In this way, this Holy Name came all the way to Srila Jagannath Das Babaji Maharaj, Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur, Srila Gaura Kishor Das Babaji Maharaj, Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur, then to our Param Gurudev Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj, and finally to our Gurudev Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj. In his lifetime, Srila Gurudev told me, "If somebody wants to take initiation, if somebody wants to chant the Holy Name and is ready to follow the rules and regulations, you can give initiation to them."

I have told just now what the four principal rules are—dyuta, pana, striya, suna. (1) Do not gamble, (2) do not take alcohol, do not smoke, do not smoke marijuana, (3) do not do illegal sex, and (4) do not eat meat, fish, etc. Also, you must follow ekadasi every month, follow all the ekadasi rules, and always take the maha-prasad. Cook and offer what you cook with Tulasi leaves to Deities on your altar, and then take that prasadam. Practise in this way and chant the Holy Name. If you have a kirtan guide, you can try to sing some songs every morning and evening. If you can practise in this way, it will be good for you.

Now repeat after me,

শ্রীকৃষ্ণচৈতন্য প্রভু নিত্যানন্দ ।
শ্রীঅদ্বৈত গদাধর শ্রীবাসাদি গৌরভক্তবৃন্দ ॥

sri krishna chaitanya prabhu nityananda
sri advaita gadadhara srivasadi gaura bhakta-vrinda

This is Pancha-tattva's Name. First chant this Pancha-tattva's Name. Ask for Their mercy because They have brought this Holy Name to this abode and we cannot chant this Holy Name without Their mercy. Then, start chanting from the big beads. I will chant now, and you only listen:

হরে কৃষ্ণ হরে কৃষ্ণ কৃষ্ণ কৃষ্ণ হরে হরে ।
হরে রাম হরে রাম রাম রাম হরে হরে ॥

Next bead,

হরে কৃষ্ণ হরে কৃষ্ণ কৃষ্ণ কৃষ্ণ হরে হরে ।
হরে রাম হরে রাম রাম রাম হরে হরে ॥

Chant in this way from the big beads to the small beads, then take turn and chant from the small beads to the big beads. Do not cross the sumeru bead (the big bead in the middle)—when you finish chanting on the small beads, turn the beads and start chanting again from the small beads; when you finish chanting on the big beads, turn the beads and again start chanting from the big beads. Chant in this way sixteen rounds or more, that is good for you. If you are busy with service any day, then you must chant not less than four rounds. If any problem occurs and it is somehow not possible for you to chant on your beads, then you can chant with your mouth only, it is OK. There is also a book about the ten offences, you must read what these ten offences are. Chant the Holy Name without offences, Krishna will reveal Himself in your heart and you will succeed in your spiritual life. Now you go and chant four rounds, that will be good.

Dandavat, everybody. It was very nice to see you all. I am very happy to see all the devotees. I will try to speak again next week. If there is any service for me, you can ask me, do not hesitate. I am a member of your family, and I also take you all as my family members. I take all the devotees all over the world as my family member—I actually do not take any biological family as my family members; for me, only all devotees are my family members. You are all my well-wishers, my godbrothers, my guardians, my Gurudev's godbrothers and senior devotees—I always pay my full obeisance to all devotees. I do not consider myself a senior devotee, I am only a junior man who is only always waiting to serve you. I am always at your service. If you can give me any service, I am always very happy about that. I see that some devotees still serve very happily... Anyhow, I am very happy to see all the devotees' mood. I pray that this pandemic situation will be removed soon. I think that the vaccine will come out in October-November and then everybody will be free from this fear. Actually, we are not afraid of death—one day we have to die anyway, whether it is one day earlier or one day later. The main thing is that as many days we are alive, we will always remember our Guru, we will always chant the Holy Names and we will always concentrate our mind on the service of the Lord. That is the main thing for us, and this is what everybody should follow.
