[To a devotee] Send them a message: 9 o’clock. [To everyone] I must give a class at 9 p.m. tonight. A hundred countries join online these classes. When it is 9 p.m. here, it is 9 a.m. in some other countries, and in some countries it is 2 a.m. at night. That is why Guru Maharaj often said that the sun never sets on Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math. You may wonder how this is so. When the sun sets in some place, it rises in another place: it is evening here for us, but for them the sun is only rising now. For example, it is 11–12 o’clock in the morning in London now, and at 9 p.m. our time (India), it is 9 a.m. in America. When we have these online classes, devotees sit for the programme, and I speak some Hari-katha for them. I am going to tell them about the guru, etc. in English. Each country translates it into their own language, writing what I am saying so that others can understand it. Even when I give a class in Bengali anywhere, they record everything, write what I say down and translate it into English, and then it is posted at the website www.scsmathinternational.com. You can find everything I have spoken today, all photographs of today’s festival at the website. The whole world can see it – they can see how many people have come today, how many people have taken prasad, and so on. The photographs are already at the website, and everyone is calling me, saying in amazement, ‘So many people!’

That is why Gurudev said that the sun never sets on Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math. When I was in my room today, I spent most of the time talking on the phone. I had kept my phone in the room today, and when I turned it on again at 4 p.m., I saw many missed calls, and now I will also give a two-hour class from 9 p.m. until 11 p.m. Devotees from all the countries want to hear from me and know how the festival went, so I must speak to them. On Sunday, there will be another class in honour of Srila Prabhupad Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur’s disappearance festival (I anyway give a class online every Sunday).

So, this Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math is not only a group of people from West Bengal. This Mission includes members from all over the world. Therefore, I have to harmonise and speak with everyone all over the world equally – I must adjust and behave with everyone according to their nature. This is also how Srila Gurudev sowed the seeds all over the world. First, Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Maharaj Prabhupad went all over the world and ploughed the land, and then Srila Gurudev went all over the world, planting the seeds, as a result of which we are now getting the fruit. Hearing Hari-katha, people from various countries become attracted, and we give them initiation from here. I chant on beads and send them abroad beforehand, and when the beads arrive, the devotee who is in charge of the local temple or mission hands the beads to them. They come in front of the screen in their country, and I can see them through the screen here. In this way, I give them initiation. Sometimes, five–six devotees, sometimes two devotees take initiation. In this way, even during the lockdown, people came to take shelter in Gurudev. There was a time when the planes were not running, so it was difficult to send beads – it was a big problem – but now the post office is running as before, so we send the chanted beads, and after that we arrange an online programme for the initiation.

Srila Janardan Maharaj, Srila Ashram Maharaj, and many other senior devotees – you know them all – join these online programmes. I meet with everyone in ‘zoom’ (online) every week. Srila Gurudev has made over 130 temples all over the world, and after Gurudev left, many more centres have been opened, both in Bengal and beyond. If you have gurudev’s mercy, you must give yourself completely, to the very end, for the service to your gurudev – you must pour out all your heart, all your mind, everything…
