Become drawn to Nityananda Prabhu, and you can rescue yourselves from this terrible material world.

Those who forget Krishna have no memory or knowledge of Krishna.

কৃষ্ণ-বহির্ম্মুখ হঞা ভোগ বাঞ্ছা করে ।
নিকটস্থ মায়া তারে জাপটিয়া ধরে ॥

krsna-bahirmukha hana bhoga vanchha kare
nikatastha maya tare japatiya dhare

‘When souls become averse to Krishna and desire enjoyment, Maya, who is always nearby, pounces on them.’

(Sri Prema-vivarta, 6.2, Sri Jagadananda Pandit)

কৃষ্ণ ভুলি’ সেই জীব অনাদি-বহির্ম্মুখ ।
অতএব মায়া তারে দেয় সংসারাদি-দুঃখ ॥

krsna bhuli’ sei jiva—anadi bahirmukha
ataeva maya tare deya samsaradi-duhkha

‘Forgetting Krishna, the soul turned towards the external illusory world in primeval times. As the result, illusion (Maya) gives such a soul various material miseries.’

(Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, 2.20.117)

পিশাচী পাইলে যেন মতিচ্ছন্ন হয় ।
মায়াগ্রস্ত জীবের হয় সে ভাব উদয় ॥

pisachi paile yena matichchhanna haya
maya-grasta jivera haya se bhava udaya

‘Those who are possessed by a ghost become delirious, and the same condition arises in those who are seized by Maya, illusion.’

When you forget Krishna, the Master of the World – when you become removed from the service of the Lord – then Maya, who is always near, jumps and catches you.

কৃষ্ণ-বহির্ম্মুখ হঞা ভোগ বাঞ্ছা করে ।
নিকটস্থ মায়া তারে জাপটিয়া ধরে ॥

Srila Prabhupad says:

For as long as you remain oblivious of Krishna, you will always be cheated out of service to the Lord and remain in Maya’s clutches. Just as an ant always crawls everywhere looking for a hole, Maya is also always near us, always looking for a hole to get you. As soon as you forget the Lord and think about something else, Maya will jump on you:

You cannot practise Krishna consciousness without taking shelter at Sri Nityananda Prabhu’s holy lotus feet. Many people think that one can practise spiritual life without a guru. This is a wrong conception. If you do not practise Krishna consciousness (if you do not worship and serve the Lord), do you know where you will go after death? To the abode of Lord Yama. You do not even need to worry about it – the road to his abode is already laid for you. On account of their pious merits, those who are averse to Krishna may go to heaven, and on account of their sins, they may go to hell and suffer from hellish miseries. Unless our intelligence awakens amidst the agony of the threefold miseries, how can we hope to attain any auspicious destination?

বিষয় ছাড়িয়া কবে শুদ্ধ হ’বে মন ।
কবে হাম হেরব শ্রীবৃন্দাবন ॥

visaya chhadiya kabe suddha ha’be mana
kabe hama heriba sri-vrndavana

‘When will my mind reject this material world and everything in it and become pure? When will I behold Sri Vrindavan?’
