His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj
Lord Nityananda Prabhu's Appearance, noon class
Sri Ekachakra Dham, 25 February 2021, part 4
Translated from Bengali

Srila Krishna Das Kaviraj Goswami describes in Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita how he received Sri Nityananda Prabhu’s mercy. I have told you about it before, so I will only mention it briefly now.

His brother had made an offence because he had no faith in Nityananda Prabhu’s servitor, and Srila Krishna Das Kaviraj Goswami objected to it. His brother had made an offence to Nityananda Prabhu’s servitor, Ramdas Minaketan, and Srila Krishna Das Kaviraj Goswami did not accept his brother’s position; instead, he took Sri Nityananda Prabhu’s side. Later that night, Nityananda Prabhu came to him in a dream and told him to leave for Vrindavan. It is owing to Srila Krishna Das Kaviraj Goswami that we now have Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita.

I have brought some copies here, you can get this scripture.

In the weekly Gaudiya magazine, Srila Prabhupad wrote an article in honour of Sriman Nityananda Prabhu’s appearance festival. There, he quotes from Sri Chaitanya-bhagavata:

adhikari bai kare tahana achara
duhkha paya sei-jana, papa janme ta’ra

‘If anybody crosses the line and tries to behave as He did, it is a sin and they will they will suffer in their life.’

rudra bine anye yadi kare visa-pana
sarvathaya mare, sarva-purana pramana

‘If anyone other than Rudra tries to drink poison, they will inevitably die. All Puranas bear witness to it.’

(Sri Chaitanya-bhagavata, 3.6.30–31)

It says here that Siva can drink poison – do you think you can do that, too? Take it and see how you feel after that. So, if somebody has the right, or qualification, to do something, they can do it. Nityananda Prabhu can wear blue clothes, saffron clothes, He can wear anything He wants (bangles, necklace – anything). But you do not have the right to do what Nityananda Prabhu does. For example, many imitate Nityananda Prabhu and take two wives. Those who have the right to do that can do that, they can digest everything, but you do not have the right to cross viddhi-marga (the path of established rules and regulations).

visayira anna khaile malina haya mana
malina mana haile, nahe krsna-nama grahana

‘If you eat food that comes from materialistic people, it will contaminate your mind. And if your mind becomes contaminated, you will not be able to chant the Name of Krishna.’

(Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, 3.6.278)

That is why we do not eat anything and everything without discrimination. If we go somewhere, we personally make an offering to the Lord and then take that as prasad. That is why it says here:

rudra bine anye yadi kare visa-pana
sarvathaya mare, sarva-purana pramana

‘If anyone other than Rudra tries to drink poison, they will inevitably die. All Puranas bear witness to it.’

(Sri Chaitanya-bhagavata, 3.6.31)

If anyone takes poison like Lord Siva (Rudra), they will die. Therefore, one can do only what one is fit to do.

ista-deva vandon mora nityananda-raya
chaitanya-kirti sphure yanhara krpaya

‘I offer my respectful obeisances unto Sri Nityananda Raya for He is my worshippable Lord. By His mercy, the glories of Lord Chaitanya become manifest.’

(Sri Chaitanya-bhagavata, 1.1.11)

chaitanya-chandrera priya-vigraha balai
tana-sthane aparadhe mare sarva thani

‘Balai is the dearmost deity of Sri Chaitanyachandra. If anyone commits any offence at His feet, they are done for.’

(Sri Chaitanya-bhagavata, 1.1.42)

samsarera para hai’ bhaktira sagare
ye dubibe, se bhajuka nitai-chandere

‘If you desire to cross the ocean of material existence and dive into the ocean of devotion, may you serve Sri Nitaichand!’

vaisnava-charane mora ei manaskama
bhaji yena janme-janme prabhu-balarama

‘My only prayer at the holy feet of Vaishnavs is that I may worship my Master Balaram birth after birth.’

(Sri Chaitanya-bhagavata, 1.1.77–78)

You cannot get Krishna without Balaram, and you cannot get Gaura without Nitai. If you worship Nitai, you can get Gaura, and if you worship Gaura, you can get Radha-Krishna in Vrindavan. But many go straight to Vrindavan, before getting the mercy of a bona fide guru

Chanting: Maha-Mantra and Bhajans
'A girl came to me yesterday and argued with me: Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math follows mostly Guru, and Iskcon follows mostly Krishna; we chant so many bhajans, and they mostly chant Hare Krishna maha-mantra. I told her..'

Both the guru who gives initiation out of affection or greed and their disciple
get a curse from the demigods and go to hell.
