Gaudiya Math—Transcendental Hospital
His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
In this world, "Jivana anitya janaha sara tahe nana-vidha vipada-bhara: life is uncertain and full of all sorts of dangers." Life is uncertain, temporary.
Of what help is making hospitals? If you make a hospital in Nabadwip and in so many other places, what is the use? Today they cure pain in your hand, but tomorrow you will have pain in your head. Who can give you real relief? Only Guru can relieve you from this material world, can cure you from the material disease of heart (bhava-rog). That is why Gaudiya Math, Chaitanya Saraswat Math, is a university where all diseases are cured. For this reason (to rescue the souls from the illusory world), Mahaprabhu also comes in Kali-yuga,
তব নিজ-জন কোন মহাজনে
tava nija-jana kona mahajane
O Lord! I am very wicked-minded and have fallen into this material world, but You have sent a great soul, Your associate (to rescue me).
দয়া করি' মোরে পতিত দেখিয়া
daya kari more patita dekhiya
Seeing me so fallen and being merciful, he came to me and said, "O humble soul, listen to this wonderful message and your heart will rejoice.
তোমারে তারিতে শ্রীকৃষ্ণচৈতন্য
tomare tarite sri-krsna-chaitanya
"Sri Krishna Chaitanya has appeared in Nabadwip to deliver you."
Only Guru can save you from from this world of maya (illusory environment) and convert you to Krishna consciousness. Krishna sends His own associate in form of a Guru, but actually it is Krishna Himself who comes as a Guru to give Krishna consciousness to all souls. What is Krishna consciousness? It is 'Search for Sri Krishna, Reality the Beautiful', it is 'Loving search for the lost servant.'
You must search for the Lord! You must find your house, find where your real house is. Your own house is in a place where you will not want to come back from, where all trees are benedictine trees (kalpa-vriksa), where all cows are surabhi cows (wish-fulfilling cows). There, if you ask a banana tree for a mango, it will give you mango, or if you ask a blackberry tree for some grapes, it will give you grapes. That is called Goloka Vrindavan. Here, if you want milk, you have to milk a cow, but there you can put a bucket under the udder of a surabhi cow and milk will automatically pour. Can you get anything like this in this mundane world? No, never. Can you come to a mango tree here and ask, "Hey, mango tree, give me a rose apple!" Will you get it? No, you will not. Can you come to a cow here and ask, "Give me milk!"? Will the cow give milk to you? No, it will not—you have to milk the cow to get milk.
This kind of place is your home, and you can come there. If you get to that home there, you will never come back, you will not want to come back here. That kind of place is our home—I, you, we all have come from that kind of place and we must all go back to that place.
That is why we pray to you all to dedicate yourself to what is necessary to come back to that kind of place. What is this? It is called practising Krishna consciousness. This is what you must do. If you can practise Krishna consciousness, it will be good for you, then you will be able to return to your home. You must go back to your own home.
If you go to a hospital, what will that give you? What can they do in these mundane hospitals? You can go to a mundane hospital and say you have a headache, the doctor gives you medicine, your headache finishes. Next you have pain in your knee, you go to the doctor again. When knee pain finishes, then your arms start to pain, and so on. Hospitals cannot cure you properly! But if you come to this line, then everything will be always happiness, always ananda, pleasure.
ঈশ্বরঃ পরমঃ কৃষ্ণঃ সচ্চিদানন্দবিগ্রহঃ ।
isvarah paramah krsnah sach-chid-ananda-vigrahah
"Krishna, who is known as Govinda, is the supreme controller. He has an eternal, blissful, spiritual body. He is the origin of all. He has no other origin, for He is the prime cause of all causes."
(Sri Brahma-samhita, 5.1)
He is the cause of all causes. He is ecstasy personified, and if you get to His abode, you will get eternal happiness, eternal pleasure.
That is why Prabhupad Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur said that you can make millions of millions hospitals, but if in lieu of that you can make one person a devotee (if you can bring one devotee from the illusory environment and use them for the service of the Lord), that is far better, it is far better than anything else.
Remember this, think about this when you do this Nabadwip Dham parikrama...
