Puja with Love His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
When Krishna is in Bengal, He takes rice. When Krishna is in Mathura, He takes chapati. When Krishna is in Venezuela, he takes arepa. [To one of the devotees:] What do Russian people take? Noodles? In Russia, they always take wheat, is it not? I do not know how they eat it—one day they boiled wheat. I told them it is cow's food—we give it to the cows here. ...Pujari must serve with love and affection. When you do puja, you must do it with love, wearing clean clothes, etc. Actually, I have always been afraid to do puja. Gurudev also said he was afraid. He told me once, "You will not be a puja man." That is why, I never go inside the Deities' room. I have gone inside two-three times in Nabadwip to clean, when it was being painted, and when there was a flood in 2000—we had to take the Deities to the roof, and everybody was afraid to take the Deities. I did not mind it. Mahaprabhu is a little bit lighter, so I took Him, and two more devotees took Krishna and Radharani (They are very heavy). We put the Deities into a boat and three of us carried them to the roof...
