(12/13) Leave Separate Interests

Soon is Sri Nityananda-trayodasi (the holy appearance day of Sriman Nityananda Prabhu). Please come to Birbhum on 25 February, there will be a festival in our temple in Ekachakra. Many of you have also got invitations to Gaura Purnima, please come. I think many of you have been to Nrisingha Palli recently – you have seen that we now have many rooms there. Come, there is no problem with accommodation – come for the parikrama of the holy dham. A few days later, there will be a festival in Birbhum, Ekachakra; you must all come. The programme and parikrama are three days (dvadasi, trayodasi and chaturdasi). You can also come earlier (on the ekadasi day), it is not a problem. Devotees will start coming from the ekadasi day, and there are enough rooms for everyone, so everyone can come.

You see that everyone is all right – nobody is ill, nobody has got corona, nobody has died. If gurudev gives his mercy, if gurudev keeps us alive, if the Lord keeps us alive, then nobody can do anything to us. There are twenty-year-old people who die of corona, and there are one-hundred-year-old people who get corona and come back from hospital. So, there is no need to be afraid. I have told you: practise Krishna consciousness, do not stop. You may live only for ten years, but if you practise Krishna consciousness, it is sufficient. On the other hand, if you do not practise Krishna consciousness, there is no use living for one hundred years. We must practise Krishna consciousness.

সাধুসঙ্গে কৃষ্ণনামে—এই মাত্র চাই ।
সংসার জিনিতে আর কোন বস্তু নাই ॥

sadhu-sange krsna-nama—ei matra chai
samsara jinite ara kona vastu nai

‘I desire only to chant the Name of Krishna in the association of sadhus. There is no other way to conquer this material world.’

There is no other way to conquer material existence unless you chant the Holy Name.

অসাধুসঙ্গে ভাই কৃষ্ণনাম নাহি হয় ।
নামাক্ষর বাহিরায় বটে তবু নাম কভু নয় ॥

asadhu-sange bhai krsna-nama nahi haya
namaksara bahiraya bate tabu nama kabhu naya

‘Brother, the Name of Krishna cannot be chanted in bad association: it may certainly sound like the letters of the Name, but it can never be the Name proper.’

You can never chant the Holy Name in bad association, so always keep good association, then you will get supreme benefit – you can get the Lord! Please come to your home! You are all my relatives. We are all amritasya-putra (sons of nectar): we have one father, so we are all brothers and sisters. Please remember that we are all related, we are all one family. As I have just told you, our only near and dear one is Krishna, nobody else. Everyone else is svajanakhya-dasyu: dacoits disguised as well-wishing family. They may look as your well-wishers and relatives, but they are actually dacoits. Do you not see what is going on in the world? Do you not read newspapers, watch TV or listen to the news? Children kill their mothers. A mother creates the body of her child with her own blood during ten months (the Lord gives the soul, but parents create the body), after that she nourishes and takes care of the child (wipes the child’s stool and does everything else) for many years – and this very child then kills her! Is this a relative? Is this your well-wisher, your near and dear one? It is not. They are dacoits disguised as your relatives. Everyone in this world knows nothing except their own interests. However, the Lord does not want any separate interest:

সর্ব্বধর্ম্মান্ পরিত্যজ্য মামেকং শরণং ব্রজ ।
অহং ত্বাং সর্ব্বপাপেভ্যো মোক্ষয়িষ্যামি মা শুচঃ ॥

sarva-dharman parityajya, mam ekam saranam vraja
aham tvam sarva-papebhyo, moksayisyami ma suchah

‘Give up all kinds of religion and surrender to Me alone. I will liberate you from all sins, do not despair.’

(Srimad Bhagavad-gita, 18.66)

The Lord says, ‘Leave all religions…’
