SRI GAUDIYA GITANJALI : SRIMAN MAHAPRABHU VANDANA
kabe aha gauranga baliya
bhojana sayane, dehera yatane,
chhadiba virakta hana [1]
When will I chant, ‘O Gauranga!’ and stop worrying about eating, sleeping and
this body, becoming annoyed with it all?
navadvipa-dhame, nagare nagare,
abhimana parihari’
dhama-basi-ghare, madhukari la’ba,
khaiba udara bhari’ [2]
Leaving ego, I will roam the towns of Nabadwip Dham. To fill my stomach, I
will eat whatever alms I get at dham-basis’ houses.
nadi-tate giya, anjali anjali,
piba prabhu-pada-jala
taru-tale padi’, alasya tyajiba,
paiba sarire bala [3]
I will come to the bank of the river and, offering oblation, drink the water
that washes the Lord’s feet. Stopping beneath a tree, I will leave all
laziness and feel strength in the body.
kakuti kariya, ‘gaura-gadadhara’,
‘sri-radha-madhava’ nama
kandiya kandiya, daki’ uchcharabe,
bhramiba sakala dhama [4]
I will pleadingly take the Names, ‘Gaura-Gadadhar! Sri Radha-Madhav!’
Wandering throughout the holy land, I will weep and loudly call out to
Them.
vaisnava dekhiya, padiba charane,
hrdayera bandhu jani’
vaisnava thakura, prabhura kirtana,
dekhaibe dasa mani’ [5]
Meeting any Vaishnavs, I will fall at their feet, considering them my
dearmost friends. Vaishnav Thakur will then show me Prabhu’s kirtan,
accepting me as his servant.
