All Glory to Sri Sri Guru Gauranga

Dear Devotees, Friends, and Well-Wishers,

Please accept our humble obeisance at your holy feet.

In view of the approaching grand festival of the divine appearance of His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad Jagad-Guru Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj, the President and Sevaite-Acharya of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math, on 7 October 2021 (Thursday), we humbly share the following as a way of general guidance on conducting festivals that we have learned from the association and eternal divine pastimes of His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj. Generally, the programmes arranged and hosted by Sri Gurupadpadma would go as follows:

Assembling, gathering and welcoming all august Vaishnavs and devotees with obeisances, sweet words, garlands;
A brief introductory opening speech;
Chanting kirtans:

- Vandana
- Sri Guru Parampara kirtan
('Krsna haite chaturmukha')
- Sri Gurudev's kirtan
('Gurudev! Krpa bindu diya', or 'Gurudev bada krpa kari')
- Sri Pancha-tattva's kirtan
('Sri Krsna Chaitanya Prabhu jive', or 'Sri Krsna Chaitanya daya kara')
- Sri Vaishnav Thakur's kirtan
('Kabe Sri Chaitanya more', or 'Krpa kara Vaisnava Thakura', or 'Ohe Vaisnava Thakura')
- Sriman Nityananda Prabhu's kirtan
('Nitai-guna-mani amar', or 'Nitai-pada-kamala', or 'Akrodha paramananda')
- Sriman Mahaprabhu's kirtan
('Gaurangera duti pada', or 'Parama Karuna', or 'Emana durmati')
- Sri Sri Radha Krishna's kirtan
('Jaya Radhe Jaya Krsna', or 'Jaya Radha Madhava')
- Sri Rupa Goswami's kirtan
('Sri Rupa-manjari-pada')
- Hare Krishna Maha-mantra
Class and/or reading from scriptures;
If any other senior Vaishnavs are present, they are given turn to speak;
Concluding kirtan ('Hari haraye Nama Krsna', Hare Krishna maha-mantra);
Devotees chant kirtan and offer puspanjali (flower petals) to the picture of Sri Gurupadapadma;
Offering bhoga followed by arati worship (usually, such programmes take place at noon, so first bhoga arati is chanted, then the arati songs);
Distributing prasadam with care and affection;
Presenting daksin and/or auspicious items to senior Vaishnavs or devotees in general;
Affectionate farewell;
Completing cleaning, tidying, and other services.

From the holy lotus mouth of Sri Gurupadapdma Om Vishnupad Jagad-Guru Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj:

"What did Gurudev leave us for? So that we join the festival, give some glorification, take prasadam, and leave? Our service does not finish there. We must distribute to others what Gurudev told all over the world, what Gurudev kept for us—his books, his audio and video recordings. What we invent or discover is not necessary to distribute; distribute what he told, what he invented and discovered, that is sufficient—people will be benefitted through that. That is necessary for us. We should understand what he wanted and what he did not want..."

"Gurudev, Srila Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj always wanted to give some prasadam to the devotees, and I saw in Chaitanya-charitamrita, Prapanna-jivanamritam, and even Jagadananda Pandit's Prema-vivarta that if you have something, you must give it to others—if you have no wealth, you can give others some prasadam, and if you have no prasadam, nothing, you can give others sweet words. That is the main thing. You can make others happy with sweet words."

"All the devotees know how to cook, what is there to it? When Nityananda Prabhu is in Ekachakra, He likes roasted and mashed eggplant (begun pora), and when Nityananda Prabhu comes to Venezuela or Colombia, He takes arepa there. What is the problem? Nityananda Prabhu's taste is different—He can take different things from everybody and from everywhere as long as you cook it with heart. The main thing is to serve with heart—not to do anything artificially. When you do any service or cook anything, you must do it with heart, then it will be good for everybody, and then Mahaprabhu, or Krishna, or Nityananda Prabhu will be happy—They will enjoy, and Gurudev will also enjoy. This is the main advice how to do everything. It is necessary for us to understand this."

An extensive guidance on the proper service mood during the Vaishnav seva festivals is kept in the Daily Practice section of the website:

Observing Festivals
A page of the Daily Practice section dedicated to Vaishnav-seva and observing festivals. "Why are you making a festival? Making a festival means you are inviting many people and you are giving them some prasadam, engaging them in Krishna consciousness—it means practising Krishna consciousness."

Favourite Preparations
When asked, His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj replies, "When devotees give me something with affection, I take that." Presented on this page, however, is a list of preparations favourite to His Divine Grace that was provided by the servitors of His Divine Grace.

"Guru is the divine messenger of immortal hope and joy in this mortal and miserable world. His advent is the most auspicious and happy event to the suffering animation and can be compared to the rising of the morning star that can guide the traveller lost in the desert. A gentle touch of Sri Guru's merciful hand can wipe away the incessant tears from all weeping eyes. Oh the day when this poor soul realises the causeless grace of Sri Gurudev."

"I bow my head in eternal obeisance to my Gurudev, the best of acharyas, Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj. He is the ever vigilant, stalwart guardian of the current of pure devotion whose highest form flows from our most worshippable Sri Rupanuga Guru-varga in their exclusive dedication to Mahabhav, Srimati Radharani."

Dear Devotees, Friends, and Well-Wishers,

Please accept our humble obeisance at your holy feet.

Bowing down at your holy feet, we would like to extend a humble and earnest invitation to your holy self to join the grand celebration of the divine appearance day of Sri Gurupadpadma Om Vishnupad Jagad-Guru Sri Srimad Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj that manifests this year on 7 October 2021 (Thursday).

Considering the calamitous circumstances we are placed in following the disappearance of our beloved Sri Gurupadpadma, we pray that every sincere devotee of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math may find a possibility to observe this day immersed in Sri Hari-katha, Hari-kirtan, and Hari-seva, which are so extremely dear to our Sri Gurupadpadma, who continues to guide, protect and watch over us, albeit unseen to our mundane eyes.

Although there is currently no bona fide centralised outlet for service contributions in the Mission, we pray that devotees can render assistance to the festivals observed in their communities and focus eternally in their lives on contributing the core ingredient of every service endeavour—one's entire being, mind, heart and soul. In the words of His Divine Grace, "Surrender to the Lord. Have full faith. You must surrender and give everything—your shyness, shame, fear, everything; keep everything at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Krishna, Srimati Radharani, or Gurudev. Give your everything, cent per cent."

Taking your feet dust on our heads, we humbly pray that this supremely worshippable divine appearance day of Sri Gurupadpadma, celebrated with much joy and grandeur by the fortunate souls throughout the entire manifest creation, may pass auspiciously in every house and heart.

Satisfying the Lord
"Bali Maharaj asked Vamanadev, 'O brahman, what do you want? Tell me, and I can give You anything you wish.' Vamanadev replied, 'I do not want much. I know you have everything, but I want only something small.'"

The last recorded Hari-katha and Guidance of Sri Gurupadpadma:

Take Care of Yourself [Part 1 | 2 May 2021]
"...This is the situation now—we must all be careful. We must chant more and more, we must preach more and more, and we must practise more and more. Always continue following all the rules and regulations—we must distribute the teachings that we have got from our Gurudev to others."

Sadhus' Fight [Part 2 | 2 May 2021]
"This is a battlefield. We will not run away from the battlefield—we will always stand and fight against Maya. You can see everywhere that finally demons are always defeated by the sadhu. Om is always at the side of a sadhu. Please you all take care yourself. In this situation, everybody should practise on their own, do not be disheartened."

Be Exclusive, One-Pointed [Part 3 | 2 May 2021]
"If you think about good things, then all bad things will automatically be removed from you. Do not worry so much about this. When you think some anartha is coming, you must give more and more attention to practising—concentrate your mind on practising."

Importance of Vaishnav-Seva
"Gurudev always warned me when I made festivals, 'Be careful. You have invited many people, you have invited sannyasis and brahmacharis—you must give them good prasadam, you must give good respect to them. If you can please and make devotees happy, then you can succeed in your spiritual life.'"

His Divine Grace's Sri Vyasa Puja Speech in 2010:

My Joy and My Plight
"I have never wanted this—that I would sit in one place and everybody would come, pay obeisance to me. Never. I want to go and chant and dance everywhere, preach in the villages—this is my life. It is impossible for me, it is actually an austerity for me, but I have to keep Gurudev's word."
Download / listen to the audio (2.6 Mb, 8 min)

"I Need Your Mercy!"
"I am here today to get your mercy—I am here today to worship you, I have not come to take worship. I only want to serve the Vaishnavs, I have no other desire. I do not want anybody to do my puja, I want to serve you all."

Good Heart Is the Soul of the Temple
"You get millions of people joining and chanting, 'Gaura Hari bol! Gaura Hari bol!' but if you sieve through this crowd, you will not find even one pure devotee there. Yet there can be just two-five people, but they worship and practise Krishna consciousness properly—they are my happiness."

His Divine Grace's Sri Vyasa Puja Festival in 2011:

Sri Vyasa Puja Day: A Happy Day

Fending Maya Off: Nourish Others, Protect Yourself
"Call devotees and bring them to the temple, help them keep connection. Maya is very powerful, but when devotees are with devotees, maya always runs away. We must worry about our quality. We can be small, but our line should be perfect."

My Great Fortune and Hope
"Actually I do not know when my birth day is, but Gurudev told me, 'This is your birth day,' and that is why devotees celebrate this day. Celebrating means what? Celebrating means devotees are giving mercy to me on this day and I am becoming indebted to them."

Sankirtan Yajna—Soul of Preaching
"Where it is allowed, you must do sankirtan in the street—there may be only five of you, but if you do sankirtan, people will come, even birds, beasts, trees will get benefit through your kirtan. If you sit in your house, no one will come—start the fire, wind will come."

Avoiding Pratistha
"Without service to Vaishnavs, what can rescue us from this kind of illusory environment? Gurudev always said that it is very difficult in this age of Kali to conquer illusory environment, to conquer kanak, kamini, and pratistha. You can overcome kanak (attachment to money) and kamini (attachment to women), but it is very hard to give up pratistha (attachment to name and fame)."

His Divine Grace's Sri Vyasa Puja Festival in 2013:

Sri Vyasa Puja Day: My Mood and Request
"Every day is a service day for me, but today is the day when I must serve devotees more. I do not know how much I can surrender, but Gurudev made me his dog, and that is why I am serving as his dog—I am still serving and protecting the temple as a dog..."

Sri Vyasa Puja Day: Appreciating Mercy

Preach and Proceed In Your Spiritual Life
"You may have a small temple, you are just a few devotees there, but you can gather together and worship your Guru with heart and soul. Make festivals, give good prasadam, glorify our Guru-varga, sing some bhajans. This is what a temple is meant for. This is our life."

His Divine Grace's Sri Vyasa Puja Festival in 2014 & 2015:

Your Fortune, My Fortune
"You have assembled here today for this occasion to give mercy to a fallen soul like myself. I feel humbled and very fortunate. It is very difficult to get the darshan of Vaishnavs. When I am giving initiation, do you know what I am remembering?..."

Be Conscious and Cautious
"To live eternally in Vraja, you must enter a relationship with your Guru, after that if you practise, you can understand your destination. How can we make Gurudev happy? If we can understand it step by step, then we will be able to understand the main teaching."

Greatness Is Not Measured by Cloth
"Religion means we must bring the jiva souls to Krishna consciousness. Gurudev gave this duty to me, and this is not only my responsibility, it is your responsibility too. Gurudev said, 'One does not become a sannyasi just by wearing a sannyasi's clothes.'"

Surrender: Eye-Opener
"'Do you not know who this is? Can you not recognise Him? He is the Guru of all, He is Lord Krishna Himself! He has come to this world to awaken the souls. He took sannyas from Keshav Bharati.' Sarvabhauma Bhattacharya did not believe it."

Mercy Means Anugatya
"It is necessary to always think about the order of your Guru. Guru's mercy means following the order of the Guru—if you follow the order of your Guru, then you get his mercy. You can go to the market, buy chanting beads and chant on them—but it is not the same."

Neither Cry nor Laugh
"You must ask yourself first, 'Do you love yourself or your Guru more? Do you love the Lord or yourself more?' Examine yourself. How long will you sleep in the lap of Maya? How long will you choke and struggle in the waters of Maya?"

Pure Current
"This Name was chanted in many villages, but with offence, and Bhaktivinod Thakur, holding the current of devotion, preached the pure Holy Name to this world just as Maharaj Bhagirath brought the Ganges to this world."

Autobiography of Srila B.N. Acharya Maharaj
To try to describe unlimited glories of a Vaishnav is a very challenging task, and because the nature of Guru is beyond what we can grasp with our material intelligence and beyond what we can perceive with our material senses, it makes the task even harder. Presented here is an autobiographical discourse of His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj, the current Acharya and Sevaite of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math.

Remembering Early Days
"Today's day is accepted as the day of my birthday. I do not know by what pull I have come here. "Krishna is my mother, Krishna is my father"—I knew that from my childhood, I had such sukriti. Since my childhood I have always been inspired to read Srimad Bhagavad-gita."

PHOTO ALBUM
The photographs presented in this dedicated photo album are only a few glimpses into a particle of the service and contribution that His Divine Grace has made. May they however become a source of inspiration for the service and dedication to the lotus feet of Sri Gurudev that His Divine Grace embodies.

KIRTANS:
Gurudev! krpa-bindu diya | গুরুদেব! কৃপাবিন্দু দিয়া
"When I examine myself for qualifications, I find none. Your mercy is everything. If you are not merciful to me, then, crying, I will no longer maintain my life."

Samsara-davanala | সংসার-দাবানল
"I offer my obeisance unto the lotus feet of Sri Guru, the ocean of goodness who assumes the form of a cloud of mercy to deliver the souls burning in the blazing fire of material existence."

Sri-guru-charana-padma | শ্রীগুরুচরণ-পদ্ম
"I carefully offer my obeisance to Sri Guru's lotus feet, which are the sole abode of devotion. O brother! By his mercy we cross over this world and reach Krishna."

Krsna haite chatur-mukha | কৃষ্ণ হৈতে চতুর্ম্মুখ
"Srila Govinda Maharaj's dear successor, who is devoted to practising and preaching his teachings, is Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj. All the Gurus in this succession are associates of Sri Gauranga—I pray for their remnants."

Ki rupe paiba seva | কিরূপে পাইব সেবা
"I am so wicked, how will I ever get service? I do not have any attachment to Sri Guru and Vaishnavs! It is not possible to conquer maya by engaging in maya. I see no other way to get relief except for the mercy of sadhus."

Sri Rupa-manjari-pada | শ্রীরূপমঞ্জরী-পদ
"The lotus feet of Sri Rupa Manjari are my wealth, my bhajan (service), my puja (worship), the wealth of my life, and whatever ornaments I may have. Her lotus feet are the very life of my life."

Amara jivana | আমার জীবন
"My life is always engrossed in sin. There is not a trace of piety within it. I have caused others so much anxiety and trouble. Such a sinner as I is shunned by devotees, and is a constant offender."

Gurudev bada krpa kari | গুরুদেব! বড় কৃপা করি’
"When, O master, will you mercifully grant this servant the qualification to do this? Then my heart will become steadfast, I will tolerate everything, and I will serve the Lord sincerely."

His Divine Grace's Sri Vyasa Puja Festival in 2017 & 2018:

My Service Day
"I am always with the devotees, I am always thinking about the devotees and I am always thinking about Gurudev. Actually, this day is my service day. I must serve my Gurudev more, I want to serve the devotees—this is how I want to celebrate this day. This is my happiness."
Download / listen to the audio (0.5 Mb, 1 min)

Meaning of Guru Puja
"We must understand the meaning of 'guru-puja.' If you only offer some arati to Gurudev, this is not guru-puja. Guru-puja means guru-seva. We must always think, "How can I please my Guru? What does Gurudev want? What does he like?" We must understand this and fulfil Gurudev's most cherished desires."
Download / listen to the audio (2.3 Mb, 7 min | Bengali)

Key to Guru Puja
"Gurudev had explained and taught me that when you make a festival not much is necessary—a festival means Vaishnav seva, bhakta-seva. Guru-seva is not engaging your Guru in service—it means serving your Guru, serving his devotees."
Download / listen to the audio (2.6 Mb, 7 min | Bengali)

Service Consciousness
"If we always practise and if we always serve Vaishnavs, then we can become worthy of a particle of dust from the lotus feet of Vaishnavs—that is sufficient for us. If you fast and offer some flower to your Guru but do not take part in service—it means you think about yourself, not about others."
Download / listen to the audio (2 Mb, 6 min | Bengali)

Sri Vyasa Puja Speech
"Actually, all the devotees have come here from all over Bengal and many countries also and they are celebrating my birthday, but I am not thinking about my birthday because I do not want to take any puja from devotees. I always want to be servitors' servitor, I do not want to take any service from others."
Download / listen to the audio (5.5 Mb, 16 min)

"I Want to Be a Good Follower of My Gurudev"
"I have never wanted to be a Guru, and to this day I still do not think that I am a Guru. I always think that I want to be a good disciple of my Gurudev—I want to be a servitor of Gurudev's devotees, I want to be a good follower of my Gurudev."
Download / listen to the audio (1.7 Mb, 5 min)

Guru-Disciple Bond
"You must understand purely what Gurudev needs, what is his connection, what Gurudev wants, what his heart wants and you must always fulfil his desire. That is what the relationship between the Guru and a disciple is."
Download / listen to the audio (2.1 Mb, 5 min)

Remembering Early Days
"Today's day is accepted as the day of my birthday. I do not know by what pull I have come here. "Krishna is my mother, Krishna is my father"—I knew that from my childhood, I had such sukriti. Since my childhood I have always been inspired to read Srimad Bhagavad-gita."

Sri Guru: More than Lord
"Guru is called a holy embodiment of the Lord's mercy. You all worship or serve the Lord, but you will not get direct love and affection from the Lord. Because the Lord cannot give you direct mercy, He sends His close associate in the form of a Guru to this world."
Download / listen to the audio (3.6 Mb, 10 min | Mostly Bengali)

Intimate Service Mood
"Many are scared to speak to Gurudev, but what is there to be scared about? Are you afraid of the one whose shelter you have taken? Gurudev is called the centre, the very heart of the disciple. This is our line."
Download / listen to the audio (2.3 Mb, 7 min | Bengali)

On Lord's Order
"Whatever austerity comes, throw your happiness away, forget your own happiness or sadness and serve the Lord. The Lord has kept me alive, and you have all come here, you are giving me your blessing, then I am getting one more year of life."
Download / listen to the audio (1.8 Mb, 5 min | Bengali)

Unswerving Devotion
"I will tell you some examples of Guru-seva. There cannot be anything more important in your life than this. You must always remember this, then you will get supreme benefit. I always pray to the Lord that you may get relief from the illusory environment and come to serve the Lord."
Download / listen to the audio (4.8 Mb, 14 min | Bengali)

Great Advantage of Guru-Seva
"There are sixty-four devotional practices, and Prahlad Maharaj said among all those devotional practices Guru-seva has more importance. You must listen to what I am saying carefully. Remember it."

Laws of Spiritual Kingdom
"When you aspire to enter Vrindavan's kingdom, you must apply for the visa at Radharani's lotus feet. When you get Her stamp of approval, then you can get the darshan of Vrindavan; and Radharani is Gurudev himself, so when you get his seal, then you can enter that domain."
Download / listen to the audio (1.3 Mb, 4 min | Bengali)

Service to Guru: Abode of Benediction
"Those who fail to practise various devotional practices very quickly attain all perfection just by serving their Guru. Those who are fortunate can embrace this in their hearts—if you are always busy trying to make your Guru happy, you can attain perfection in this very life."
Download / listen to the audio (1.4 Mb, 4 min | Bengali)

Supreme Desire of Supreme Lord
"You want to enjoy so much, but the Lord wants to enjoy with you all together and His desire is millions times stronger. That is why the Lord sends His associates to this world who come to engage you in the service of Lord and send You back to the Lord. We sit here amidst illusion and think, 'I want more,' But how much is your capacity to enjoy?"
Download / listen to the audio (1.5 Mb, 5 min | Bengali)

Entering Gurudev's Family
"Gurudev stretches his hand to you, but why do you not accept his hand? Gurudev calls out, 'Come, come! Come to my family!' Unless you enter this family, your anarthas will never leave you even if you chant millions of Holy Names with offences."
Download / listen to the audio (2.5 Mb, 7 min | Bengali)

Trade Secrets of Krishna Consciousness
"If one is to come to Vraja Krishna, one must imbibe the mood of Vraja. What does it mean to get the mercy of Nityananda Prabhu? If you can attract and give joy to Nitaichand with your kirtan, then you will feel taste and joy chanting kirtan—then you can get Radha-Krishna."
Download / listen to the audio (2.6 Mb, 7 min | Bengali)

Exposing Core of Disciple's Heart
"You do not enter into a relationship with the Guru just by taking a mantra from him. If you have love and affection for your Guru, then you have some relationship with your Guru, then your journey up the ladder of devotion has begun."
Download / listen to the audio (2.7 Mb, 8 min | Bengali)

Core of Mission's Heart
"If you take life away, is there any value in the body? The same is true for our spiritual life—if you remove Guru from your spiritual life, you remove life from your body. If you remove service to the Lord from a temple, this temple loses its very life."

In honour of Srila Madhva Acharya:

"Madhva Acharya also stayed here with his disciples for some time as a resident of the Nabadwip Dham. Gauranga-sundar mercifully revealed His most enchanting form to Madhva Acharya in a dream. Smiling, Gaurachandra said to Madhva Acharya, 'Everyone knows that you are My eternal servant. When I appear in Nabadwip, I will follow your lineage. Now, carefully eradicate illusionism and false scriptures from all regions, and establish the glory of the Lord's Deity form. Later, I will develop your pure conception.' Saying this, Gaurachandra disappeared. Madhva Acharya awoke and then fainted. Madhva Acharya then cried, wondering, 'Will I ever see that beautiful golden form again?' Then a divine voice came from the clear sky, 'Serve Me secretly, and you will come to Me.' Madhva Acharya became resolute and defeated the mayavadis in all directions."

A Separation Day
[An extensive discourse of Srila B.S. Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj, spoken on this day]
"Nobody can properly glorify the Vaishnav-mahima, then what can I say to you? I am always waiting for mercy—for causeless mercy. I have no qualification, causeless mercy is the only hope for me, and for others also. I am trying to express my heart today at the lotus feet of Vaishnavs. I pray they bestow their mercy, and that mercy cannot but be causeless. We are all unqualified, we cannot properly respect Vaishnavas, but by their mercy we can get that qualification, I have no doubt about it. Today is the disappearance day of Srila Krishna Das Kaviraj Goswami, Srila Raghunath Das Goswami and Srila Raghunath Bhatta Goswami. It is very hard for a disciple for tolerate the disappearance of their Guru..."

They are just like the ocean of love of God, and they are popular both with the gentle and with the ruffians, because they are not envious of anyone. Whatever they do, they are all-pleasing to everyone, and they are fully blessed by Lord Chaitanya. Thus they are engaged in missionary activities meant to deliver all the conditioned souls in the material universe."

Today in the calendar: Purnima. Sharadiya Rasa Yatra of Sri Krishna. Disappearance of Srila Murari Gupta. Beginning of Urja Vrata, Damodar Vrata, Kartik Vrata and Niyam-seva Vrata.

His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad Srila B.N. Acharya Maharaj: "Even if you do not know anything about the Vaishnav mentioned in the calendar, you must still give them 'jay' on this day. We must always remember disappearance and appearance days of all Vaishnavs. If we can remember such personalities, such great souls, it will bring a great benefit to our spiritual life."

"We should always check the calendar, and when we see some dates mentioned there, even if we do not know anything about the Vaishnav or events mentioned there, we can at least give 'jay' to them—that also brings some good sukriti, some purification to us. Seeing the calendar and taking devotees' names early in the morning, from the beginning of the day, is very good for all devotees."

"Wake up, look into the calendar and give 'jay' to your Guru and Vaishnavs. Always pay obeisance to your Guru and Vaishnavs when you wake up in the morning, always give them 'jay'. Always keep faith and show respect to them. Always see the calendar—whose appearance day it is, whose disappearance day it is. Even if you cannot make a festival, at least you can give them 'jay', it will bring you benefit. When you give 'jay' to your Guru and Vaishnavs, it brings you sukriti. For example, today is the disappearance day of a Vaishnav—give 'jay' to him, remember him. We must always remember the words of Vaishnavs. If I remember the words of Vaishnavs, I get some benefit, some deposit through that."

"To the Supreme Lord, whose form is the embodiment of eternal existence, knowledge, and bliss, whose shark-shaped earrings are swinging to and fro, who is beautifully shining in the divine realm of Gokula, who is quickly running from the wooden grinding mortar in fear of Mother Yasoda, but who has been caught from behind by her who ran after Him with greater speed—to that Supreme Lord, Sri Damodara, I offer my humble obeisances."

"Sivananda Sen's house is in Kulingram. Mahaprabhu said, 'I love Kulingram devotees so much. I love even the dogs from Kulingram! Sri Nityananda Prabhu's Eccentricity
"When Mahaprabhu took sannyas, He first came to Sri Advaita Acharya Prabhu's house, and from there He was going to go to Vrindavan. However, He changed His mind and finally went to Puri. On the way to Puri, Sri Nityananda Prabhu contrived a plan...."

—: INVITATION :—
Srila B.R. Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj's Appearance Festival

Dear Devotees, Vaishnavs, and Well-Wishers,

Bowing down at your holy feet, we would like to extend a humble and earnest invitation to your holy self in eternal memory of our worshippable Sri Gurupadpadma, Om Vishnupad Jagad-Guru Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj, to join the grand celebration of the divine appearance day of the supremely worshippable Founder Acharya and eternal Guardian of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math, Om Vishnupad Jagad-Guru Sri Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj, that manifests this year on 30 October 2021 (Saturday).

Although there is currently no bona fide centralised outlet for service contributions in the Mission, we pray that devotees can render assistance to the festivals observed in their communities and focus eternally in their lives on contributing the core ingredient of every service endeavour—one's entire being, mind, heart and soul. In the words of His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad Jagad-Guru Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj, "Surrender to the Lord. Have full faith. You must surrender and give everything—your shyness, shame, fear, everything; keep everything at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Krishna, Srimati Radharani, or Gurudev. Give your everything, cent per cent."

Taking your feet dust on our heads, we humbly pray that this supremely worshippable appearance day of Srila Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj, celebrated with much joy and grandeur by the fortunate souls throughout the entire manifest creation, may pass auspiciously in Hari-katha, Hari-kirtan, and Hari-seva that are so dear to the hearts of Sri Guru, Vaishnavs, and the Lord.

Satisfying the Lord
"Bali Maharaj asked Vamanadev, 'O brahman, what do you want? Tell me, and I can give You anything you wish.' Vamanadev replied, 'I do not want much. I know you have everything, but I want only something small.'"

Srila Krishna Das Kaviraj Goswami's Gratitude
"Srila Krishna Das Kaviraj Goswami writes, 'I have got Sri Vrindavan Dham by the mercy of Sri Nityananda Prabhu. He ordered me to Vrindavan saying I would get all possible benefit there. When I came there, I attained the mercy of Mahaprabhu's dearmost devotees.'"

Today in the calendar: Krishna Tritiya. Disappearance of Tridandi Swami Srimad Bhakti Srirup Puri Maharaj (a sannyas disciple of Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur Prabhupad).

Unblemished Nitai
"If Nityananda Prabhu had not come, we would not have known anything about the transcendental pastimes of Sriman Mahaprabhu. Fire can remove all impurities, but fire is not affected by that. In the same way, even if Nityananda Prabhu transgresses the religion of a sannyasi, He has no fault. He is higher than any rules and regulations."

In Praise of Srila Narottam Das Thakur [From Affectionate Guidance]
"Today is the Disappearance Day of Srila Narottam Thakur, so I would like to say a few words to glorify him. Before Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur most of the Vaisnava songs came from Srila Narottam Thakur. But although he wrote many beautiful songs of devotion, Narottam Das Thakur was not just a song writer, he was a great pandit and more than that, he was a devotee of Sri Chaitanyadev."

"We have no quality, no qualification to serve the Vaishnavs. If we do not got mercy from Vaishnavs, we cannot acquire, or get, service from the Vaishnavs. That is why we always make Vaishnavs' tirobhav (disappearance) festivals and remember such days.

"We are praying to that Vaishnav Thakur [Srila Narottam Das Thakur], 'Wherever you are staying, Prabhu, wherever you are living now, we want to serve your servant! We want to serve your servant's servant.' We pray we can get some mercy and can serve him, can protect his line and preach about him."

"Always aspire for Nitai's feet. Narottam is very sad: 'O Nitai! Make me happy. Keep me beside your reddish feet.'"

Today in the calendar: Krishna Ashtami. Bahulashtami. Manifestation day of Sri Radha Kunda. Sannyas day of Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj.

We must always remember the words of Vaishnavs. If I remember the words of Vaishnavs, I get some benefit, some deposit through that."

In honour of Sri Radha Kunda's manifestation day:

"Srila Prabhupad laid a special stress on this and expressed it in very appropriate Gaudiya terms and conclusions. Unless we serve the transcendental Govardhan, we will not be able to realise the supremacy of Sri Radha Kunda that lies beside Govardhan and is inundated with the nectar of divine love. 'Go' means senses or knowledge. If you serve the external, physical Govardhan, i.e. cultivate knowledge merely to increase or indulge your selfish material senses, then you are actually dunking yourself into the waters of Niraya Kunda (Hell Pond) that is created by the maha-maya, the external shadow potency of Sri Radha; only when you foster transcendental senses and cultivate transcendental knowledge can you consider it service to Govardhan for the pleasure of Krishna's senses."

(Guidance 3, 'Sri Radhastami')

The grove-dwelling on the banks of Radha-kunda,
Govardhana mountain, the banks of river Yamuna;
Kusuma-sarovara lake, Manasa-ganga river,
The rolling waves of Yamuna, daughter of the sun;

Place of the Rasa dance, and Gokula, the gentle breezes,
The trees, vines, and Vetasa palms of Vraja;
The birds and animals, the sweet air of spring,
The peacocks, bumblebees, the flute's sweet song;

Flute, horn, His footsteps, range of clouds in the sky,
Season of spring, the moon, the conch, hand-cymbals;
I know all this nourishes the pastimes of the Divine Couple,
I can feel they arouse the holy pastimes of the Lord;

I can never leave all these things so dear to me,
Without them I know I'll surely die;
Hear me, O Kan, says Sri Bhaktivinoda:
You are the only light of my life.

This is Vrindavan. Vrindavan is so friendly, so sweet, so near to us, and such a well-wisher of ours. We are quite at home there—sweet, sweet home. Svarupe sabara haya, golokete sthiti: in our innate and innermost existence, we are members of that plane. Now we have come out, and we have scattered our consciousness all over the surface. Cover, cover, cover—there are so many layers, and they are all dry things. And the substance, the spirit, is within. Eliminating this bodily cover, the mental cover, the liberation cover, the Vaikuntha cover—then I may enter into the land of Vraja. Vrindavan resides within me, if I can find my friends everywhere. They are my friends and relatives, and they will give me all-pleasing experience, ecstasy. Mahaprabhu came with this news for us. 'Oh, you are a child of that soil; why do you suffer here, my children, my boys? Why do you suffer? Amrtasya-putrah: you are a child of that soil, and you are suffering so much, coming in the desert? Your home is so resourceful, so sweet, and you are running in the desert? What is this? Come! Leave this poisonous charm, this suicidal charm. This charm, maya-charm, misunderstanding charm—this is suicidal. Leave this apparent charm! This is poisonous, like a witch. The witch has charmed you here and made you spellbound. Come along with Me! I shall take you to your home which is so very sweet!'"

(Sermons of the Guardian of Devotion 1, chapter 11)

"I offer my obeisance unto he who perfectly fulfils his Gurudev's most cherished desires; who is fully adorned with the blessings of his Gurudev's associates; who is expert in all aspects of Vedic knowledge, both conceivable and inconceivable; who is the pre-eminent follower of Srila Rupa Goswami Prabhu's line; who is known as 'Govinda'—Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj; whose beautiful, effulgent, exalted form is infused with pure devotion; who is the Guru of the entire universe; and who is the giver of the seed of divine love for the Supreme Lord."

"The day after Srila Guru Maharaj gave Srila Govinda Maharaj sannyasa was Guru Maharaj's own Appearance Day and he was very happy on that day. Early that morning I went to see him and said, 'Srila Guru Maharaj, yesterday you gave Srila Govinda Maharaj sannyasa; but I think he took sannyasa many, many lifetimes ago.' He replied, 'Oh, you want to say that this is only being done to show the people who he is, but actually he is much more than that?' Srila Guru Maharaj was smiling and laughing, and on that morning, his own Appearance Day, he sat on his chair and for maybe two or three hours he talked about Srila Govinda Maharaj. This was the Appearance Day of the Guru but the Guru was doing kirtan of the disciple!"

Srila Sridhar Maharaj did not want to be a king, but he made so many kings in his life. We hear of many symptoms of a Vaishnav, and we see that Srila Sridhar Maharaj possesses all of them."

SONG: Jaya Guru Maharaja | জয় ‘গুরু-মহারাজ' যতিরাজেশ্বর
"All glory to Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami, the leading general of the tridandi-sannyasis! You revealed your Pastimes in this world as the saviour of the fallen and delivered the sinful and unfortunate souls."

Sri-gaura-mandala majhe | শ্রীগুর্ব্বাবির্ভাব প্রশস্তি
"In Sri Gaura Mandal, there is a village called Hapaniya where my Lord, an abode of all good qualities, appeared. It stands on the bank of the Ganga, who is very merciful to the fallen souls; renowned in the whole world, this abode is a holy repository of knowledge and jewels of logic."

Prayers to Sri Vaishnav Thakur:

SONG: Ei-bara karuna kara | এইবার করুণা কর
"O worshippable Vaisnava, be merciful to me this time. O saviour of the fallen, without you there is no one. In every birth I aspire for the dust of your feet."

SONG: Ohe Vaisnava Thakura | (ওহে) বৈষ্ণব ঠাকুর
"O worshippable Vaishnav, ocean of grace, be merciful to this servant. Give me the shade of your feet and purify me. I clasp your feet. You can give Krishna, you have that power. Calling, 'Krishna!' 'Krishna!', I run after you."

SONG: Ki-rupe paiba seva | কিরূপে পাইব সেবা
"I am so wicked, how will I ever get service? I do not have any attachment to Sri Guru and Vaishnavs! Prabhu, you see no fault in others, you are the saviour of the fallen. Please deliver Narottam this time!"

SONG: Sri Rupa-manjari-pada | শ্রীরূপমঞ্জরী-পদ
"The lotus feet of Sri Rupa Manjari are my wealth, my bhajan (service), my puja (worship), the wealth of my life, and whatever ornaments I may have. Her lotus feet are the very life of my life."

Supremely Worshippable Day
"Today is the holy appearance day of Sriman Nityananda Prabhu—He without whose mercy this world is plunged into darkness, He without whose mercy we do not see and will never see any light, He without whose mercy the door of Goloka Vrindavan will never open for us, He without whose mercy we can never save ourselves from this illusory environment."

Vaishnav Etiquette
'Even if your enemy comes to your house from far away, you must at least give them some prasad, some sweet rice, some Tulasi, water, and talk to them sweetly.'

Sri Sri Prema-Vivarta
“If you want to chant the Name of Krishna, then associate with sadhus and leave behind the desires for enjoyment, liberation, and supernatural power.”

If you have some material desire and do not want to remove it, and instead
you want more and more, you will never get relief from that desire.
