"O Lord, I have obeyed the wicked dictates of lust, anger, and so on, for so
long and in so many ways! Yet they have never taken pity upon me, and I have
never felt shame or satisfaction! O Lord of the Yadus, now I have abandoned
them and attained proper consciousness: I have surrendered unto You, the
abode of fearlessness. Please engage me in Your service."
"মহাপ্রভু জানতেন কে ১০% ভক্ত, কে ৫০% ভক্ত আর কে সত্যিকারের ১০০% ভক্ত । তিনি সব পার্ষদগণকে সহজে বুঝতে পারতেন । তিনি জানতেন যে, দামোদর পণ্ডিত খুব সরল ভক্ত ছিল আর এক দিন তিনি তাঁকে পরীক্ষা করলেন, 'আমি যদি কিছু অন্যায় করব, ও আমাকে কিছু বলবে কি না ?'"
"'যদি চাহ প্রণয় রাখিতে গৌরাঙ্গের সনে । ছোট হরিদাসের কথা থাকে যেন মনে ।' ভক্তরা মহাপ্রভুর কাছে গিয়ে মিনতি করলেন, 'প্রভু, ছোট হরিদাস একটা সামান্য দোষ করেছে । কৃপা করে ওকে ক্ষমা করে দাও । ও সব বন্ধ করে দিয়েছে, এখন অনেক দিন ধরে কিছু না খেয়ে আছে ।' মহাপ্রভু বললেন, 'যদি আর একবার এর কথা বলবে, তোমরা আমাকে আর এখানে দেখতে পাবে না ।'"

name was Madhav Misra, and his mother's name was Ratnavali Devi. They lived
in Mayapur near Jagannath Misra's house. Mahaprabhu could never stay without
Gadadhar Pandit, and Gadadhar Pandit could not stay without Mahaprabhu even a
moment too..."

"Sri Jagannath is not an object to be seen; Jagannath is the Seer. When the
soul gives up the ego of the seer and becomes fully established in the ego of
an object of Jagannath’s vision or the pure original form of being an object
of enjoyment, it then acquires service temper and can attain the
darshan of Lord Jagannath through the eyes of divine love and service
temper.
"For as long as we think that we will see Jagannath, we will not be able to see Him, but rather we will only always see wood, stone, an enjoyable idol maimed by the impersonal or historical accounts; and when we can know with all our heart and soul that He will see me, that we are materials for His enjoyment, and there is no covering of our own pleasure when it comes to His enjoyment, that He is absolutely independent and acts as He pleases, then only will Jagannath reveal Himself to us.

idea that, 'I will get to see Jagannath—I will measure the
sach-chid-ananda vigraha with my fleshy eyes and enjoy.' That is why
even after the deception of getting the darshan of Jagannath, their

"কালকে আমাদের রথযাত্রা সম্পন্ন হয়ে গেল । আপনারা গুরু-বৈষ্ণবের কৃপায় রথযাত্রা খুব সুন্দর ভাবে, সুষ্ঠু ভাবে কাটিয়ে দিলেন । বহু কষ্ট করে এসেছেন, বহু কষ্ট করে যাচ্ছেন—কিন্তু কষ্ট না করলে ভগবানকে পাওয়া যাবে না । এই অল্প দিনের জন্য এসে আপনারা কষ্ট করে ভগবানের জন্য ভগবানের প্রসাদ গ্রহণ করে ছিলেন । সেটা তো খুব বড় ভাগ্যের ব্যাপার ।"

and, after Mahaprabhu had travelled all South India, He came back to Puri and
settled in Kashi Misra's house. He always discussed Krishna-katha with Ray
Ramananda and Svarup Damodar—who will one speak Krishna-katha with if not
with one's dear and near ones?"

The Gift of the Golden Lord
Srila Bhakti Kusum Ashram Maharaj's speech in English during the evening
class: "We always think about how this is happening—how this celebration has
now become famous around the whole of the world. It is not a question of some
Bengali function, it is not some local celebration, but rather this is a
celebration of the whole universe. Everywhere in the universe this day is
being celebrated as the most auspicious day."
