Overflowing and Grand Festival
"I was very busy with the festival of Nityananda Prabhu's appearance day in Sri Ekachakra Dham last week. So many devotees came to this festival—crowds and crowds of people. The temple was overflooded. This is only the mercy of Nityananda Prabhu and Gurudev."

His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad Srila B.N. Acharya Maharaj: "Even if you do not know anything about the Vaishnav mentioned in the calendar, you must still give them 'jay' on this day. We must always remember disappearance and appearance days of all Vaishnavs. If we can remember such personalities, such great souls, it will bring a great benefit to our spiritual life."

"We should always check the calendar, and when we see some dates mentioned there, even if we do not know anything about the Vaishnav or events mentioned there, we can at least give 'jay' to them—that also brings some good sukriti, some purification to us. Seeing the calendar and taking devotees' names early in the morning, from the beginning of the day, is very good for all devotees."

"Today is a special day, Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur's appearance day. If he had not come, where would we get Srila Guru Maharaj, Srila Gurudev? If we do not get mercy from Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur, without Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur, we cannot think about Srila Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj."

Vaisnav Ke? (An Appeal to Your Mind)
"We do not want to stay in the temple because there are so many rules and regulations—everything has to be maintained at a certain time, and if you live alone, nobody will tell you anything, but you will be losing your devotional activities. Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur said that nirjan bhajan is self-deception."

Illustrious Acharya
"I am offering my obeisance at the lotus feet of Bhagavan Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur whose disappearance day took place today. When his job finished here, he passed the responsibility to his beloved disciples and went back to his own home."

Srila Prabhupad's Teachings

Unimaginable Service

Sri Ekachakra Festival: Beyond Imagination
"The festival lasted finally four days—ekadasi, dvadasi, trayodasi, and chaturdasi; and everybody started coming one day before that. 2,500 kg rice total for this festival, and 1,000 on Nityananda Prabhu's day. "My Life Is for My Gurudev"
"So many things happened, I even risked my life, everything, but I know that my life is not for me—my life is for my Gurudev, for the devotees. If I run away with my life, what is this? Perfect Mood
"The problem is that we do not even know how to practise. It is necessary to practise properly. We pay obeisance to Gurudev, but our devotion is deceitful. It is very rare to come across devotion without deceit. Our devotion is such that outside we do one thing, and we have something else inside. This is called kapata-bhakti."

His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj's Holy Guidance for the devotees worldwide:

"I know you cannot come this year because of the covid situation—you cannot get the visa this year because of the government restrictions. Still, if you are thinking about this Nabadwip Dham Parikrama and do Sri Nabadwip Dham Parikrama with us—if you read about the places we will go to every day, if you read and remember Sri Nabadwip Dham—it will be good for you. We will first go to Antardwip, then Simantadwip, Rudradwip, Madhyadwip, Godrumdwip, Koladwip, Ritudwip, Modadrumdwip, and Jhanudwip. If you remember Sri Nabadwip Dham from far away, then you will think that you are actually in this Sri Nabadwip Dham Parikrama. I know you will feel very sad every day because you cannot come, but you must remember Sri Nabadwip Dham from far, it will be very nice for you. This is the proper practice and proper etiquette for you. It is very important. And I will also be thinking about you all every day...

"Those who always think about Sri Nabadwip Dham, reside in Sri Vrindavan."

"I am requesting everybody to participate in Sri Nabadwip Dham Parikrama. You must all contribute to your Nabadwip Dham Parikrama. You cannot come this year, but I do not want to stop your service to Sri Nabadwip Dham Parikrama because of that. If you contribute your service for Sri Nabadwip Dham Parikrama, I will be very happy and it will be good for you also."

What Are You Doing With Your Life?
"We are so engrossed into material life that we have no time, no energy to think about Nityananda Prabhu's mercy. Day by day our life is passing, and each day our age is not increasing—our age is decreasing! We tell many things, but how much time do we spend practising properly and how many hours do we spend on our own self, on our own body?"

Tottering Intelligence
"No matter what we do, our illusion does not go away, instead of that we are only losing our intelligence. Our life is uncertain. Once you step on the street, nobody guarantees that you will return—you walk with death in your pocket. To hear and chant the glories of the Lord, to take the Name of the Lord—that is the only aim in life."

Today in the calendar: Krishna Chaturdasi. Sri Sri Sivaratri (optional fast). Disappearance of Sripad Yudhamanyu Prabhu Seva Vikram.

In honour of Lord Siva:

devadidevam-ahibhusanam-indukasam
panchananam pasupatim varadam prasannam
gangadharam pranatapalakamasutosam
vande sadasiva-haripriya-chandramaulim

"The chief of the Devas, whose body is decorated by snakes, whose body shines like the moon, who has five heads, who carries his weapon known as Pasupat, who gives boons, who is of satisfied nature, who holds the Ganga on his head, who maintains those who give obeisance to him, who is easily pleased—I offer my obeisances to Sada Siva, who is dear to Hari, and whose crown is the moon."

"Usually, people worship Lord Siva for their own interest, but this is not a real worship. Do not do this. Do not make Sivji your servant by coming to him to get something in return for the puja. People say, 'Siva, give me this,' 'Siva, give me that'—Siva becomes their servant. However, our duty is to worship Lord Siva. I will worship Lord Siva, and whether he takes this worship or not, what he will give me or not give me, this is his matter. I do not care whether I like something or not, if he is happy to keep me in a bad condition, let him keep me in this way; and if he is happy to keep me in a good condition, let him keep me in this way. My happiness or unhappiness does not matter. We must always remember this."

~Srila B.N. Acharya Maharaj

Sivji Maharaj—Param Vaishnav [20 Jan 2016 | Translated from Bengali]
"Some say, 'You are a Siva bhakta, I am a Krishna bhakta!' You must not say such things. Siva and Krishna are not different from each other, and at the same time Krishna and Siva are one. Siva is an expansion of Krishna."

"O Vaishnav Thakur!" [9 December 2018 | Tarakeshwar]
"We cannot have the darshan of Lord Siva with these eyes. Do we have the eyes? We have the eyes for maya—we always see the things of illusory world. Devotees pray to Lord Siva for forgiveness of their offences. If you ask him for forgiveness, he is very merciful, he can remove your offences..."

"O worshippable Vaishnav, ocean of grace, be merciful to this servant. Give me the shade of your feet and purify me. I clasp your feet. You can give Krishna, you have that power. Calling, 'Krishna!' 'Krishna!', I run after you."

SONG: Krpa kara Vaishnav Thakura | কৃপা কর বৈষ্ণব ঠাকুর
"O Vaishnav Thakur! Please be merciful! Knowing the true relationship I will worship You and my ego will go far away. If I think, 'I am a Vaishnav,' then I will never stop expecting honour from others—my heart will become polluted by the desire for fame and I will end up in hell."

Two Important Questions
"(1) We may show some formal respect to other Missions, but we do not associate with them. If you have proper chastity to your guru, you will listen only to your Guru. (2) When reading, proper or wrong pronunciation is not a question. You must have devotion, faith."

Embracing the Fortune
"Everybody should practise properly. The problem is that we practise properly but then we sometimes also accept that which is unfavourable for devotion. Gurudev says that if you pour milk into a pot and see that the level of milk is slowly going down, it means there is a hole in your pot."

Today in the calendar: Gaura Pratipad. Disappearance of Vaishnava Sarvabhauma Srila Jagannath Das Babaji Maharaj, Srila Rasikananda Dev Goswami, and Tridandi Swami Srimad Bhakti Dayita Madhav Maharaj.

In honour of Srila Jagannath Das Babaji Maharaj's disappearance:

~ Pranam-mantra ~

Srila Jagannath Das Babaji Maharaj's Bhajan Kutir
"This place where we are sitting now is the samadhi mandir and the bhajan kutir of Jagannath Das Babaji Maharaj. We are paying obeisance to his place. He is our Guru parampara..."

Srila Jagannath Das Babaji Maharaj
"One day Srila Jagannath Das Babaji received a divine call from Radharani saying, 'Why are you staying in Vrindavan? You must go to Nabadwip!' He could not walk, so his servant Bihari Das carried him in a basket on his head to Nabadwip."

Srimad Bhakti Dayita Madhav Goswami Maharaj's Sri Chaitanya Gaudiya Math
"Srila Bhakti Dayita Madhav Maharaj was a very dear godbrother of the Founder Acharya of our Math, Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj. Before taking sannyas, Srila Madhav Maharaj's name was Sri Hayagriva Brahmachari. We have heard about him from the lotus mouth of our Srila Guru Maharaj..."

SONG: Krsna haite chatur-mukha | কৃষ্ণ হৈতে চতুর্ম্মুখ
"The foremost devotees of Srila Visvanath Chakravarti Thakur are Srila Baladev Vidyabhusan and Srila Jagannath Das Babaji. All the Gurus in this succession are associates of Sri Gauranga. I pray for their remnants."

SONG: Ye anila prema dhana | যে আনিল প্রেমধন
"I will break my head on a rock, I will enter into fire. Not finding the association of Sri Gauranga, who performed His Pastimes with all these associates, Narottam Das weeps."

Be Studious, Be Serious
"Engage in eternal service, eternal practice of Krishna consciousness. The more you go towards Maya, towards material life, the more suffering and misery you will get from Maya. Do not see Gurudev as an object of enjoyment instead of serving him. Do not see the things that are meant for the service to the Lord as objects for your enjoyment."

ADHIVAS

SRI NABADWIP DHAM MAHATMYA :

Chapter One: The Glories of the Dham
"The glories of Nabadwip Mandal are unlimited. Brahma and the other gods do not know them. So, who can describe them? Ananta Sesa is unable to describe them with thousands of mouths. So, how will I, a tiny soul, be able to? By the will of Sri Chaitanya, the devotees have ordered me, and so I describe the glories of Nadia by their mercy."

Chapter Two: The Nature and Dimensions of the Dham
"Nabadwip Dham shines eternally within Gauda Mandal, and is served by Ganga Devi. I do not see anyone in the world during the Age of Kali as unfortunate, pitiable, and fallen as someone who does not serve such a merciful Lord and rejects such an inconceivable abode. Therefore, brother! Give up all other desires and attachments, and devote yourself exclusively to Nabadwip Dham."

Chapter Three: Instructions for Circumambulating the Dham of the Dham
"Devotees, listen! I will now describe everything within the thirty-two miles of Nabadwip. Circumambulation is always done in this way and is a source of unlimited joy for the soul. Those who traverse the one hundred and sixty-eight miles of Sri Gauda Mandal quickly attain the wealth of divine love for Gaura."

Chapter Four: Sri Jiva Hears the Glories of the Dham
"Jiva was young and had a beautiful figure. His extreme detachment was astonishing to see. After walking for many days, always filled with divine love, Jiva arrived in Nabadwip. He came to Barakona Ghat and asked everyone, 'Where is Nityananda Prabhu? Please show me.'"

Knock, Knock! (Ahvana Poem)
"Who is your friend? Your friend has come to your house as a beggar and prays to you, 'Please chant the Name of Krishna! Come with us!' Just like a beggar he comes to you, but you cannot recognise him."

"I am touching your feet—please come!"
"Gurudev says, 'I am folding my hands, I am touching your feet—please come at Gaura Purnima!' How many more times will you come to this world? Those who do this Nabadwip Dham parikrama with devotees do no have to wander any longer in these three worlds."

Parikrama Is Not Sightseeing
"We have come here to serve the Lord, we have not come to see the Lord or the Lord's things—when such mentality comes to you, then it will be the parikrama of the holy abode, then it will be the darshan of the holy abode. The very dust there is not ordinary dust..."

There Is No Shame In Service
"All happiness and sadness comes and goes like cold and heat. Actually, happiness and sadness is not our line. Gopis ran behind Krishna having left all their shame, fear, everything—then what should we be ashamed of? What should we be afraid of? We must not be cowed down."

Today in the calendar: Gaura Ekadashi. Trisprisha Mahadvadashi. Fast. Disappearance of Sripad Madhavendra Puri.

In honour of Srila Madhavendra Puripad:

"Standing erect, the hairs of His body rebuke the blossoming campaka flowers. Raising His arms, again and again He calls out "Hari! Hari!" Surrounded by His devotees, again and again He sings and dances. Streams of tears flow from His eyes and sprinkle the ground. Let us glorify Him, Lord Gauracandra."

The Golden Volcano Of Divine Love
This book has been compiled from the lectures of His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj and found a very special place in the heart of its author to the extent that His Divine Grace remarked it was his favourite English language publication. The text presented here is the second edition of the book.
"Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu has taught us that separation is the highest principle in divinity. Just as the most intense conception of ecstasy is association with Krishna, the most intense conception of pain is separation from Krishna. Yet the pain felt from Krishna's separation is far more intense than the ecstasy felt from His association. Sriman Mahaprabhu says, 'Can't you understand the painful situation you are in? Your senses must have all been destroyed? Otherwise you would have died from the pain of separation from Krishna. It is inconceivable. We belong to Him wholesale. He is all in all to us, but we can't see Him. We are forcibly separated from Him. How can we tolerate this?'"

Sri Sri Prema Dhama Deva Stotram
A unique compilation of Sanskrit verses that contain most Pastimes of Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, written by Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj. Sri Sri Prema Dhama Deva Stotram has found exceptional appreciation in the hearts of the Vaishnav community worldwide. These verses are also sung every evening (10 each day, starting from Saturday) at Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math and its affiliate centers.
"I offer my respects unto Sri Gaurangadev, who rose like a golden moon in Sri Mayapura in 1407 Sakabda, revealed the Pastime of accepting the garments of the renounced order, sannyas, in 1431 Sakabda in order to benedict the entire material universe, and disappeared beyond the ordinary vision of the people of this world in 1455 Sakabda. I offer my obeisances to that beautiful Golden Lord, Gaurangasundar, the divine form of Krishna prema."

Far but Near
"Without his mercy we cannot be present here. Every year we think we will join this festival next year, but only Krishna knows whether we can join or not. Only by the mercy of Gurudev, by the mercy of Mahaprabhu can we be here."

Embrace and Nurture
'Why has Krishna, the Lord Himself, sent you here with this human body? For eating, sleeping, and enjoying? Is this all that this life is for? Can you not see anything else, any other good things?'
