kesava dhrta-mina-sarira jaya jagadisa hare [1]
You easily act as a boat and uphold the Vedas above the waters of cosmic
devastation. O Keshav who assumes the form of a fish! Glory to You, O Lord of
the universe, O Hari!
ksitir iha vipulatare tisthati tava prsthe
dharani-dharana-kina-chakra-garisthe
kesava dhrta-kurma-sarira jaya jagadisa hare [2]
You uphold Mount Mandara upon Your giant back and become beautified by the
circular scar it leaves on You. O Keshav who assumes the form of a tortoise
(Kurmadev)! Glory to You, O Lord of the universe, O Hari!
vasati dasana-sikhare dharani tava lagna

The earth sits fixed atop the tip of Your tusk like a dark spot upon the
Moon. O Keshav who assumes the form of a boar! Glory to You, O Lord of the
universe, O Hari!
tava kara-kamala-vare nakham adbhuta-srngam
dalita-hiranyakasipu-tanu-bhrngam
kesava dhrta-narahari-rupa jaya jagadisa hare [4]
As if crushing a wasp, You rip apart Hiranyakasipu’s body with the amazingly
sharp nails of Your beautiful lotus hands. O Keshav who assumes a half-man,
half-lion form! Glory to You, O Lord of the universe, O Hari!
chhalayasi vikramane balim adbhuta-vamana
pada-nakha-nira-janita-jana-pavana
kesava dhrta-vamana-rupa jaya jagadisa hare [5]
In the form of an amazing dwarf, You trick Bali Maharaj with Your strides and
deliver all souls with the water flowing from Your toenails. O Keshav who
assumes the form of a dwarf brahman (Vamanadev)! Glory to You, O Lord
of the universe, O Hari!
ksatriya-rudhira-maye jagad-apagata-papam
snapayasi payasi samita-bhava-tapam
kesava dhrta-bhrgupati-rupa jaya jagadisa hare [6]
When the world becomes distorted with sins, You spill the blood of
ksatriyas and perform abhisek, removing all material miseries.
O Keshav who assumes the form of the protector of brahmans
(Parasurama)! Glory to You, O Lord of the universe, O Hari!
vitarasi diksu rane dik-pati-kamaniyam
dasa-mukha-mauli-balim ramaniyam
kesava dhrta-rama-sarira jaya jagadisa hare [7]
To fulfil the wish of great sages, You mercifully fight a battle, pleasing
everyone with the tribute of Ravan’s ten heads! O Keshav who assumes the form
of Lord Rama! Glory to You, O Lord of the universe, O Hari!
vahasi vapusi visade vasanam jaladabham
hala-hati-bhiti-milita-yamunabham
kesava dhrta-haladhara-rupa jaya jagadisa hare [8]
You wear beautiful, shining clothes the colour of a cloud and the colour of
the Yamuna River when she is frightened by the strike of Your plough. O
Keshav who assumes the form of a plough-holder (Balaram)! Glory to You, O
Lord of the universe, O Hari!
nindasi yajna-vidher ahaha sruti-jatam
sadaya-hrdaya-darsita-pasu-ghatam
kesava dhrta-buddha-sarira jaya jagadisa hare [9]
Showing a compassionate heart for killed animals, You decry the lamentable
scriptural injunctions for sacrifices. O Keshav who assumes the form of the
enlightened (Buddha)! Glory to You, O Lord of the universe, O Hari!
mlechchha-nivaha-nidhane kalayasi karavalam
dhumaketum iva kim api karalam
kesava dhrta-kalki-sarira jaya jagadisa hare [10]
To slay all lowliest of men, You carry a sword that is as formidable as a
comet. O Keshav who assumes the form of the destroyer of darkness (Kalki)!
Glory to You, O Lord of the universe, O Hari!
sri-jayadeva-kaver idam uditam udaram
srnu sukha-dam subha-dam bhava-saram
kesava dhrta-dasa-vidha-rupa jaya jagadisa hare [11]
This poem mercifully appeared from the pen of Sri Jayadev. Please listen to
it for it gives happiness, auspiciousness and is the sum and substance of
pure devotion. O Keshav who assumes these ten forms! Glory to You, O Lord of
the universe, O Hari!
vedan uddharate jaganti vahate bhu-golam udvibhrate
daityam darayate balim chhalayate ksatra-ksayam kurvate
paulastyam jayate halam kalayate karunyam atanvate
mlechhan murchhayate dasakrti-krte krsnaya tubhyam namah [12]
I offer my obeisance to Lord Sri Krishna, who assumes ten forms and rescues
the Vedas, upholds Mount Mandara, uplifts the earth, rips apart demons,
tricks Bali Maharaj, kills ksatriyas, emerges victorious over demons,
carries a plough, shows kindness and annihilates the degraded.
