SRI GAUDIYA GITANJALI : SRI ARATI GITI
(Sung on ekadasi days, in the evening)
suddha-bhakata- charana-renu,
bhajana-anukula
bhakata-seva, parama siddhi,
prema-latikara mula [1]
Pure devotees’ foot dust is favourable to devotion. Serving devotees is the
supreme fulfilment and the root of the creeper of divine love.
madhava-tithi, bhakti janani,
yatane palana kari
krsna-vasati, vasati bali’,
parama adare bari [2]
I carefully observe all holy days related to Lord Madhav – such days are
mothers of devotion. With much affection, I take Krishna’s holy abode as a
place of my own residence.
gaura amara, ye saba sthane,
karala bhramana range
se saba sthana, heriba ami,
pranayi-bhakata-sange [3]
In the company of loving devotees, I behold all the places my Gaura visited
during His pastimes.
mrdanga-vadya, sunite mana,
avasara sada yache
gaura-vihita, kirtana suni’,
anande hrdaya nache [4]
My heart always begs for a chance to hear the sounds of the mridanga.
Hearing the kirtan prescribed by Gaura, my heart dances for joy.
yugala-murti, dekhiya mora,
parama ananda haya
prasada-seva, karite haya,
sakala prapancha-jaya [5]
I rejoice to see the holy Deities of the Divine Couple. By honouring Their
prasad, I conquer all material illusions.
ye dina grhe, bhajana dekhi’,
grhete goloka bhaya
charana-sidhu, dekhiya ganga,
sukha na sima paya [6]
Any day there is devotional service at home, I see Goloka manifest itself in
it. When I see the Ganges, the nectar flowing from the Lord’s feet, my
happiness knows no end.
tulasi dekhi’, judaya prana,
madhava-tosani jani
gaura-priya, saka sevane,
jivana sarthaka mani [7]
Tulasi Devi pleases Lord Madhav – whenever I see her, it soothes my heart.
And honouring Gaura’s favourite spinach, I consider my life successful.
bhakativinoda, krsna-bhajane,
anukula paya yaha
prati divase, parama sukhe,
svikara karaye taha [8]
Whatever is favourable to Krishna’s service, Bhaktivinod accepts that very
happily every day.
